Thanks for the feed guys!

@Spyder
Thanks for the feed bro! :y: :y: I understand where you're coming from when you ask me to write about other subject matter but I think I have. I've written about break ups, my engagement, being arrested, struggling with suicide, struggling with shame, etc.. The only thing is, I do it from a Christian perspective.

I wouldn't be able to write a song without mentioning God. When people write music, they write from the overflow of their heart. I do the same, hence the frustration and darkness of this song. Yet, I know where my hope is, so I mention Him as well.

Well, you ARE a Christian rapper.. ;)

It might be much to ask of you, but would you mind DL'ing my "Smoky Memories" mixtape and feeding a few songs (or all of it if you want :8) ) if you'd be so kind? I've only really gotten one feed on it and I'd like to know what people think of it. Thanks! :y:

Oh fuck man.

I don't know if it was the delivery or the voice but it sounded like pro shit as soon as I heard it.

And of course this sort of subject matter is pleasing to the ear as it differentiates itself from radio bullshit.

Damn man. I wanna learn your mixing techniques.

Good job!

i really how you did the chorus especially how you say "holy/control me/old me". shit was pretty damn good. not feeling the subject matter, a lil dark bruh, borderline melodramatic, but its all good. you put alot of emotion into it, it sounded believable for sure.

mind listening to one of mine? the updated link to the song is at the bottom of the thread.

Didn't really like the beat to be honest, but that didn't bother me once i'd listened a bit into the song. You got a great delivery for this kinda song, very strong. Kinda reminds me of Sticcy. Your flow is pretty on-point as well, especially how you can do the fast bits properly without stumbling, like when you sped up "whenever" to fit it in without falling back. The lyrics and content are all up my street so I got nothing bad to say about that, and the rhymes all fit great. Although what do you mean about kids singing your lyrics and shit? That seems a bit facetious if you could elaborate lol. The chorus fits the beat pretty well. The quality should be noted as well, considering you're shouting a lot on the verses there's no real popping and the quality sounds great, so that's a plus.

First song I really heard by you, so this is my first impression. I liked it.

Thanks for the feedback Kez!

And on the link about kids singing my lyrics - I had a concert a couple months ago and there were a lot of young kids there around the ages of 6-13 and a bunch of them knew almost all of my lyrics. When I first started doing "Christian" rap, I wasn't a Christian and was just doing it because one of my friends talked me into it. I ended up getting arrested for possession of Marijuana and drug paraphanelia and let a lot of people down. The point of that line is that all of these little kids are looking to me as being their role model and "I'm praying to the Spirit that I do not let them down"
