To be completely absolutely honest... i dont want Eminem to record a new album now :( he's finally in a position of relative obscurity and this would be the best time to simply work behind the scenes and release "underground" projects without too much of a label push or nothing. He should work on Love Story, Work on Street King Immortal, Work on Detox, put out one final D12 mixtape, work with Tech N9ne, work with Kendrick Lamar, write a comic book, go on a world tour, star in a movie... all that stuff. I'm not saying he should necessarily relax, but the same way Diddy, Dre, Birdman and recently Jay Z, T.I and Snoop (which is HIS range of peers) are no longer relying on themselves to do the whole creative process but being involved in projects that inspire young people inspired by them.

Its important coz it puts you in different places and positions such that your album influences are not one dimensional (so far i would expect something resembling HTS) but after interacting with a wider base of characters and individuals the music can be more eclectic, diverse and just flat out better.

Hell, he had material for 3 albums when he first came back so it is possible that this the usual process for any Em record.

He also said he made 'four different albums' before settling on the Recovery we got. He said that he recorded about 100 songs; I'm very interested to hear all of them. It's quite annoying we miss out on that much material; and given the stuff I know that he's thrown away in the past, I'm not confident that he's selected the best - I think he tries to select a mix to present a balanced album, but I bet he's got some fucking masterpiece songs in his vault, or in his 'trash' (fucker @ Relapse 2).

Yeah, I think he cares more about balance than just picking the ones he believes are the best...the best songs may not be best for the album. Like, The Warning would have NO place on Recovery I feel like, even though it's better than a lot of songs on there.

A good Eminem project is exciting, no question about that but with the output i have been getting from him i'm a little apprehensive of how good this would be. I dont want his next solo album to be good, i want it to be AMAZING, AWESOME, OUTSTANDING. To compete with TES, to be a statement album of ingenuity and excitement. I'm not sure i would get that right now.

And, by working with all these different other people the listening experience is different and therefore being a fan is more engaging. Hell The Sequel and D12 albums have such distinctly non-eminem feels to them that they expand his range.

Yes, I'd rather hear one new album than new movie appearances, concerts, freestyles, etc. combined. Which is why I'm uber excited about this album.

Is Joell banned from 106 Park or something? They said he was doinga movie last time, and they said that once again now..
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

December would be fucking PERFECT if he wants to get great first week sales. Imagine his new album coming out the week of Christmas...people would buy it like crazy.

I don't think so man... he's only really recently confirmed he's working on the album; and I know he's probably made a ton of songs already but he didn't sound like he's very far in to it yet. He hasn't even recorded it all, let alone have it mixed and mastered...

What's funny is they let Yela do a album in 2 weeks and Sh just a few of months but Em has to take forever? I don't know he's been sneaking away for months locked in the studio according to Royce.

One thing that seems likely is he's in a competitive mode. A good mood mode. So the music he's doing right now is likely all up beat maybe more Eminem Show-ish. Probably heavily influenced by SH in his music. He needs to be alone a while to get into those emotional songs.

Unless Refill counts.

Yeah but how long does it take him to make a song really.? I mean 2pac was said to record around 5 songs a day on average when working. Most producers are delivering Em finished beats with artists already on the hook. I could see Em taking his time doing 1 song a week but at the same time I could see him knocking out a few a day as well.
