This,

This without the sarcasm,

And this.

And if I recall correctly (I might be COMPLETELY wrong, please correct me if so) some Shady camp members during 2004 were hyping up Encore saying it's a great album. So it's not like Royce is gonna be "Well the new work isn't so great", he's obviously going to portray it as amazing work.

Not trying to be negative, and I definitely can't wait for the album because I have faith in Eminem, but I don't think Royce saying anything should tease you guys for the album in the slightest. :y:

I just want to actually see him say what he said, you can tell a lot more about what people mean by seeing and hearing them say it, not just reading the words. How's the upload going, EmBase?

I mean the whole idea of the accents was to revolutionize the rap scene but it had the opposite response.

So I think Royce really means what he says...and he would not open his mouth if he didn't think it was worth mentioning.

Well he said Relapse was a potential game changer.

And it was. I agree with that statement.

Who else in mainstream rap was or has ever rapped like that; Em's rhythm and writing style throughout is so unique, and it's so obsessive. Technically speaking it did have the potential to be a game changer; I just think people were so caught up in 'accents' and the subject-matter.

It never would have been a game-changer though (even though I'm saying it had the potential to be due to its technical brilliance) due to the fact the presentation was so weird and the fact that technical obsession is fringe. Most mainstream rappers care more about their 'swag level' and 'making paper', or talking about it, than they do rhyming or flow construction.

Nope not getting myself excited over anything anyone from Shady Records say. They like to over hype stuff. Eminem's been saying over and over how great Slaughterhouse album was going to be, how "rap needs this". I like the album but it's average not great not classic. Then there's those Shady Records announcements. They have these long drawn out build ups to tell us about some small performance or that Em's making a cameo in a video. And let's face it No one in rap seems willing to admit that Eminem is simply not as good as he used to be. I expect a good album but I won't hold my breath for a classic.

Still converting the video a minute.

Honestly all we ever hear from Em's crew is how Eminem's new music will "change the game forever" and how it's the "craziest" shit they've ever heard, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. I hold 0 weight into any words of his inner circle. I know this wasn't exactly that, but I'm sure we'll start hearing his people talk it up big.

With that said, I'm sure it's decent...but I'm not going to get excited like a child on Christmas.

Just like Royce said Em is producing like a makaffa, but only had Asylum on the album?
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Honestly, I'm not going to read very much into this. Of course people in Eminem's inner circle are going to hype his material. Did you think he would say "His songs are sounding alright"? That's not to say that Eminem doesn't have a great album in the making.

So, I wonder how far this album is along. Probably much further than we realize. Or at least can hope. Especially seeing with how Royce said what he did. Well, the way he worded it.

Em mixed every song on the album except The Other Side, and Throw It Away.

I don't know if this makes a difference, but in the booklet it says he co-produced Coffin, Throw That, My Life, Flip a Bird, Frat House, Goodbye, Our Way, Walk of Shame, and Place to Be

Then it says "Additional Production" which Em did on Hammer Dance, Get Up, Throw It Away, and Park It Sideways, now the difference between co-produce and additional production I have no idea, if there even is one.

For the record the songs Em actually fully produced are The Slaughter (intro), We did it (skit), and Asylum.

The songs that he did not touch (producing wise not mixing for the first three anyway) are Our House, Rescue Me, Die and The Other Side
