Welcome to: Our House - Official sales thread

Postby Shady-Yo » Aug 30th, '12, 14:22

It’s always darkest just before the dawn, or in this case, the beginning of the much-anticipated fall rush of new superstar releases. At least that’s the hope of beleaguered music retailers around this great country of ours, who weighed in with the results of one-day sales.

In what is hopefully the calm before the September storm, it looks like tobyMac and Slaughterhouse will fight it out for #1 next week. The wild card will be sales from the Christian market for veteran tobyMac, the rapper formerly known as Kevin Michael McKeehan, whose Forefront album, Eye on It, is looking at sales of 50-60k.

That puts it head to head for #1 on next week’s chart with Shady/ Aftermath/Interscope Eminem protégés and supergroup Slaughterhouse with their sophomore album, Welcome to Our House. The band features Joe Budden, Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5”9”.

Let's make it official :8) Of course it's based on one-day sales so it still can change but what would u think about 50-60k in first week?

I think they are definitely gonna be number one. I'm hoping that they sell at least twice the predicted amount though...I feel like they deserve success with this album. It really is a great one. Not game changing or anything but they managed to put out a lyrical project while making it sound good and catchy.

DJ Khaled gets all his sales from his singles, no one cares about his albums lol.

90K is much more better than 60K, and the fact that The Game hit those numbers proves something: Slaughterhouse flopped.

Clipse sold 70K in their first week with Hell Hath No Fury, so I'm not even upset about them hitting 30K.

The Game more famous than 2 Chainz and Tyga? Lol, no one even talks about his irrelevant ass anymore.

Of course Slaughterhouse did better than Clipse, they didn't have fucking Eminem with them and weren't promoted as much.

Game is irrelevant, Tyga is definitely more famous than Game at this point.

Game also gets a big list of guests.. Lil Wayne, Tyler The Creator, Kendrick Lamar... hate him or love him having Lil Wayne as a guest on your project will boost sales. When I was younger and I went to buy albums I was on the fence about... if I read featuring Eminem anywhere on the back I would buy it.

HITS:

Your Weakend Chart Preview:

Bolstered by strong sales from the Christian market, tobyMac should win the fight for #1 next week, the first Christian/gospel artist to do so in recent memory.

*tobyMac (Forefront) 60-65k
*Slaughterhouse (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 50-55k

Now 43 (Capitol/EMI) 30-35k
2 Chainz (Def Jam/IDJ) 27-30k
Adele (XL/Columbia) 21-24k
fun. (Fueled By Ramen) 19-22k
Maroon 5 (A&M/Octone) 19-22k
Rick Ross (Def Jam/IDJ) 18-21k
Justin Bieber (Island/IDJ) 17-20k
One Direction (Syco/Columbia) 17-20k
Zac Brown Band (Atlantic) 14-17k
Lumineers (Dualtone) 13-15k
DJ Khaled (Cash Money/Republic) 13-15k
Of Monsters & Men (Republic) 13-15k

Those sales are pretty sad. Can't believe shitty fucks like Big Sean or 2 Chainz sell way more.

Well, 2 Chainz actually CATERS to his target audience. Do you know who is buying this album? Eminem fans. Slaughterhouse fans are dissapointed and that is why the numbers keep getting revised downwards.

Its not bad to open with low first week sales... as long as there is momentum and potential for growth. That is why Khaled albums/ ICP albums / Cole World have HUGE first week sales but dont have growth coz no one really likes them to recommend them. No-one will recommend this in 3 weeks time - their only hope can be radio picks up the club songs and attract a few more fans.

Who the fuck is this toby guy though? Eminem Vs Toby- Slaughterhouse fail

Fuck, this is a major flop!
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Wait a second?... Eminem fans are buying 2 Chainz music? Those "Eminem fans" are the ones that don't REALLY know what Hip-Hop is all about correct? Maybe I misunderstood something. Can you please elaborate?

No, Eminem fans are the ones buying the new Slaughterhouse Record. Eminem fans are not your standard hip-hop fans. They dont mind people Like Rihanna, Skylar Grey, Bruno Mars. The rest of the hip-hop community not so much.

2 chainz is making awful music but at least the people he WANTS to please are pleased. Check out his new video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y34jC4I1 ... e=youtu.be

half a million views, 6000 likes. His audience embraces him. Slaughterhouse's fans dont.

i think more old Em fans don't like SH, because Em leave D12 and i think, that new D12 album may sales like BME album, but D12 actually never released next album (
