Yeah, the American education system is riddled with shit. They claim it's because we lose knowledge over the summer when, in reality, we are just not doing math problems everyday so of course the skills gets rusty. They expect summer homework to fix this when in fact they are just adding unneeded stress because no fucking kid is going to start his assignments anywhere near the start of summer. We start them at the end, this leads to no knowledge being retained or remembered, a shit load of work, and no one with the abilities to help you. That's were the internet comes in, it's better than most teachers anyway.

Also, Canadians never adopted the concept of summer homework, and I feel jealous of it. American education only serves to give teachers hand outs and increase corrupt union power now a days, it has nothing to do with actually educating a student.

This year was the best year ever.. We had 9 hours of computer class with some accounting software, all we did was playing Counter Strike. Lan ftw.

Oh, I got you. Still, it's retarded as fuck. My parents say they NEVER had summer homework or barely any homework at all back in the day. I've even read a series of studies that show that if the teacher is good enough, mass amounts of homework are not necessary. They just have to spend their class time effectively. I only believe in homework anyway if it challenges you and forces you to expand the knowledge of which you have been taught in order to prepare you for the next lesson. This is just is never the case, however.
