Agreed.
SSLP is untouchable.

I only wish they could have cleared the samples on Murder Murder, it would be a perfect album with that song. It really is a dope AF album, made even better by the fact the "Bitch" skit is real.

People complain way too much today, if he released a song like "my name is " now, we will have a lot of people bitching about him being inmature as hell.
Other way round , if we have somehow a more mature song, people bitch about him being bored and not funny anymore. I read those things here all time .

But when people look back tends not to find fault and think that any past was better.

i fucking hate the way Cum on Everybody sounds and cant get myself to listen to it much. Before you slam me and do the "oh, only lyrics matter" remember how you bashed WTOH for its sound.

That said, i agree with Menzo- i think TSSLP is overrated. Good yes. Great, maybe. But on PAR with MMLP and TES like some people claim....? i dont think so

The problem with Em fans is that Whenever they Listen to new songs they have this perceived sense of old Eminem in their mind and tend to compare his new work with the older work.
like wen recently his art of rap freestyle released everyone was like "wow his voice sounds like 2000-01 ish". Wen some listened to Cypher,The reunion, they said it reminds them of old eminem. not saying its a bad thing but Eminem's older work will always haunt him like a shadow and create biased opinions from fans which is a bad thing.

You may like the songs personally but if you not biased and look at things objectivley it is fair to majority of people, other rappers, fans would think they are corny and too goofy if he released those songs today. He said he hated My Name Is when it came out he has never spoken positivley about that song to this day so even he himself knew deep down even back then.

You are honestly WAY too concerned with something being "corny" and what everyone else likes.

My Name Is is less corny than Lighters but Lighters has your emotionalzzzzzzz, FOR EXAMPLE. Since I have to fucking put that from now on for you, apparently.

And I'm just saying, you care way too much about whether or not a song is corny. You care way too much about "the hood" bumping Eminem as well. Who the fuck gives a shit about what "the hood" thinks?

I think alot of people wouldn't like it and say "I want the old Em back". Maybe because the "old Em" now is The Eminem Show & Encore for many new or newer fans. And maybe because some fans just are stuck with hating on everything Eminem drops now. I am pretty quick to judge new Eminem-songs myself but I really try not to. For example: I loved Relapse when it came out, and hated Encore (besides Love You More, Evil Deeds and Rain Man) because I love the dark, bizarre, absurd, and deviant side of Eminem. I think I would have loved Cum On Everybody and My Name Is if they dropped today, the same way I love Relapse. But I would be shocked to hear that voice and flow again, hehe.

Why do you think that? What songs are there that you don't like?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was just curious. It sounded like he didn't like it at all. I think both Relapse and SSLP are both fantastic albums.

Geno wrote: Nah, I'm sure they both love the album, but I sort of share the same views they have. I never really put SSLP on a pedestal like everyone else did. TES / MMLP are unquestionably his best albums but then it's anyone's game from there. My 3rd favourite Em album usually changes depending on my mood at the time of writing my list. Sometimes it's Relapse, sometimes Recovery, sometimes SSLP. I didn't grow up with SSLP so maybe that's why I don't have any bias towards it.

Still an amazing album though.

Ok, My list would be 1. MMLP, 2. SSLP, 3. Relapse, 4. TES, 5. Recovery, 6. Encore. 5 and 6 are pretty far away from the rest of his albums though. But thats just my oppinion. So I guess I put SSLP on a pedestal but, I really think it deserves it. I really like thoes kind of lyrics. I mean I think D12's Devil's Night is one of the best albums of all time, even best Em album (the Eminem parts only, ofcourse).

But Cum On Everybody? meh, I think it'd get hate because of the immaturity, Em was young back then so he had excuses for these type of songs and they came out great for that time.
However, it's fuckin dope.

Also, prime Em doesn't get "too much" praise. Prime Em is better at everything than anyone in this Universe, dead or alive.

Immaturity? What immaturity?

And as for how it would do...if Eminem ripped a song like that, everyone with a brain would love it. Only the doofus-emo-teenyboppers would complain.
