I don't care much as long as he doesn't start saying "Go worship God" in his music or something.

Supposedly on the Funk Volume Forums, he had made a comment post somewhere that said "You're not a Funk Volume fan if you don't believe in God." Not sure how legitimate that was, but it has me wondering... does he feel that way? He's also said somewhere that Knock Madness isn't gonna be filled with preach music, so it's no biggie.

The thing is, what if I don't believe in the Christian God, but the God that my religion believes in? Would he mean I'm not a Funk Volume fan then too?
Because if that's the case, fuck being a FV fan then.

I don't think that's the case, I would hope not. That would alienate a huge amount of people.

Geno wrote:I just hope he stays "RAW". I know he wants to evolve as a musician, but I don't want him going "soft" and start alienating loyal fans from the beginning. I don't care about anyone's religion, but I hope he doesn't make it the focus of his music. I sound like I'm repeating myself but what JP said about the FV forums is true... that worries me.

I know what you mean by "RAW" and I hope he does too. But if Hopsin really truly without a doubt said that, then oh jeez...

InsaneTRex94 wrote:@JP Yeah, I know. I'm just saying, people would already feel alienated from that, they could easily interpret it in the wrong way.

Definitely. I believe in the Christian God and even I felt iffy at that, lol.

I like Hopsin and Dizzy. SwizZz at times, but he doesn't put out anything except for fan-requested tracks. I wonder what he's doing most of the time... Jarren Benton I'm gonna reserve my full opinion for when his debut drops. He's been working with WillPower, so who knows?

InsaneTRex94 wrote:True, I don't think I like anything from FV except Hopsin and Dizzy.

Here's something I wonder... does Dizzy have a better work-ethic than Hop? Cause Dizzy had an album, then a mixtape, and apparently he was thinking of putting something out at the end of the year.

Yup. And look at the date as well, so it looks like this isn't a new thing.

Good question. I don't think anyone should bash anyone for believes, cause shit, nobody truly knows the answers to the universe.

It really doesnt matter like that if he believes in god as long as it doesnt affect his music. It's like every time some rapper starts talking some shit about allah or god or whatever in their music it makes go like :shakehead:
and i never listen to them again

He is accusing non-believers of being brainwashed by the media when a book (which is a form of media) has managed to convince him that there is an invisible man in the sky.

I also like how he talks about how we're in The Matrix, a philosophical view that was popularized by a science fiction movie...another form of media. He wouldn't think we're stuck inside The Matrix if that movie never came out...that's the definition of media manipulation.

damn, I thought I was the only one who thought this. hopsin is totally different now then he was before. for example, his views on the illuminati. I remember a camsession with him and a few other dudes (almost all of which were on some alternative/goth style or some shit) and I was there too. we were just chatting about everything and anything. when all of a sudden, the illuminati gets brought up by some kid ranting about nocturnal rainbows and it's " deeper message"...

anyways, everybody started going stupid over the subject and was blurting out some ignorant shit up untill the point, hopsin "the man himself" came in and said this....

"come on guys, you don't really believe in that shit do you?? like someone is controlling everything you do.. nahh, that shit ain't real!"

this is what he said. and now, the dude wont shut up about it cause he knows, these kids, they eat this shit up.

edit: also note that, when asked about the deeper message in nocturnal rainbows he replied:

nah, there is no deeper message, I just know what you wanna hear and I know how to make a good song.

very honest if you ask me. but now he's flipping everything he ever stood for. or said he stood for.

InsaneTRex94 wrote:^The thing is, it's true, and he'd probably say it's true. Then, his reasoning for it would go something along the lines of "If you were in this fame like I was, if you've seen what I've seen, you'd know what I'm saying"

exactly.

I think he has finally hit the sweet spot and knows exactly why he is so popular amongst a certain group of people. so now he keeps bringing up religion and acts like he is here to save us from the people who are supposedly brainwashing us. knowing there are enough stupid people in the world stupid enough to believe him.

but I guess not all is bad. cause he does bring a positive message about not doing drugs, or wasting your life, or having kids at a young age. it's just that he's selling out with all those stupid lies about people controlling us and that we should trust in god or whatever.
