Eedee wrote:^ That example of Em's lines of "No Love" are stupid. It's called his FLOW on that song. The lines don't necessarily have to end anywhere, that's just the way you write them to fit your argument. Besides, nobody said ANYTHING about rhymes spilling over into the next line or whatever.

Moreover, the Recovery booklet has the lyrics listed like this:

I'm alive again, more alive than I have been in my whole entire life I can,
See those people's ears perk up as I begin
To spaz with the pen, I'm a little bit sicker than, most, shit's finna get thick again.

If you listen to the song, he pauses after each bar the way it's officially written. But then again, I guess you really didn't do your research when typing up your argument. Shame.

Your propositions are false therefore your argument is invalid.

1) amadeo said that about bigs flow in the victory verses on, i just countered it, check the last page if you dont believe me.
2) i actually find it dope when lines spillin over into the next line, amadeo doesnt

your propositions are false therefore your argument is invalid.

It sounded like you were attacking Em's flow on No Love, lol. My bad.

Everything Amadeo said about Biggie can be said about Eminem, too. From forced rhymes to poorly structured bars.. But it has nothing to do with flow. Their flow affords them the ability to do these things because they flow so well. Both of them.

You can't say Eminem doesn't have a better flow though, c'mon. He has mastered so fucking many.

^ You don't consider Stay Wide Awake to be a great Eminem song? Honest question.

Fair enough.

The lyrics on some songs were far from perfect, but the flow was perfect on all songs. It's the epitome of precision.

My mind is blown. Only from this do I now know that Jay-Z used that line in, N****s in Paris.

EDIT:

Also, you shouldn't pick a line out of a hip hop song as an example of bad rhyming like that. Whole verses yes, but every rapper has terrible lines, even in great verses/songs.

No, not necessarily. Give me an example of bad rhyming in some great Eminem songs like Rock Bottom, Lose Yourself, Brain Damage, or Kim.

From the same boring Biggie verse:

RidicuLUSSSS and I'm, quick to BUST

Auto...MATTOES, used to call me FATSO

Biggie forced his rhymes in almost all of his songs: ChristMUS missed US

I can't find really any fault in THOSE songs but my point was more that a couple of lines from a song doesn't make a bad verse/song necessarily and that everything looks worse on paper. I wouldn't say those rhymes are forced so much as lazy? Especially ChristMUS missed US, in context thats a really great line and not forced.

EDIT: Posted this after I saw the rest of the thread.

Exzibit wrote:while i agree with you about the b.i.g thing, that remix is awful, sorry
i never said eminem wouldnt sound decent, i said he couldnt match biggies flow on that song.. and that business acapella doesnt match the uptempo instrumental in my opinion, and really takes the speed out the song.. that being said, the 2pac and nas acapella were better for the song
youd probably have a better chance putting a more fluent, aggressive track on there..gotta match the snares tho, currently cant think of any eminem verse thatd fit there

but if you enjoy it its all good.

Haha I didn't like the remix myself, just thought that Business didn't fit too badly, not in a technical sense though.

Em can flow on any kind of beat . Em can flow on unflowable beats.
