Eminem uses now one different flow. Like he did on "Richard" and "Throw it Up". I still can't addict to it, but i like the song.

Airplanes was before Recovery.
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

I can explain all of the misunderstood lyrics for Eminem's verse:

"if you can hear this sound in-
-side my head sounds like a fucking drive-by
That's what the inside of my mind's like"- Prelude to his reminiscing in the next bars. As he digs downs inside his head, he browses his memories in a metaphorical drive-by.
The drive-by shooting theme goes with the upcoming “tunnel” vision reference, as tunnel visions are what vietnam vets get when looking back on their war memories.

"Looking back on my career, even hindsights, tunnel vision, 5 mics"- When Em looks back on his career…wait we gotta explain how he looks at it first, from all perspectives : even hindsights (step-back larger visions), tunnel vision, and the first play on “mics” here stands as an abreviation of 5 microscopes (adding to his multiple perspective vision/studying of his carreer) So when he looks back at his carreer, there are things that he always wanted. The 5 mics reference refers to “The Source” magazine, which rates albums using a 5 mic rating system. Em has never got 5 mics on any of his albums:
“And if I ever do live to be a legend, I'mma die a sudden death
5 mics in The Source, I ain’t holding my fucking breath."
– Eminem ft Dr. Dre- Say What You Say
Em gets a metaphorical tunnel vision on the times when he wared with Source for his deserved 5 mics, in the same way vietnam vets get tunnel visions when remembering the war

"Never wanted that so bad, felt like-I-could-go-mad"- Throughout Eminem’s career he has had a feud with The Source Magazine and its former co-owner Benzino. It began when The Source didn’t give The Marshall Mathers LP a 5 mic rating(The source uses a scoring system for its reviews in which an artist receives a maximum of 5 mics.) Eminem’s fixation on not receiving a better rating ultimately led to a lengthy beef and heated exchange of diss tracks between Benzino and Em.

"Nomad with a notepad
Go Taz, spaz on these ho bags"- Em sought so hard to be recognized and respected in the rap game, that like a nomad, he took different avenues. Rapped on different topics, touched different emotions, but no matter what he did, he just couldn’t seem to succeed. It finally drove him mad, to the point he said fuck it and just did him. He spazed like Taz on these tracks and now has the respect of everybody

"That bother me, but I never wanna show that
Just don't act like it ever does"- Notice in the previous lines his temper started rising, but when he got to this line, “but I never wanna show that,” he calms down. Nice literal manifestation of the line in-song…

Em's verse in this song is actually very clever and well-thought out. It actually takes a lot more thinking to decipher then a lot of his earlier lyrics, which were pretty straight-forward.

I think Eminem was horrible on Our House. Can barely make out what he's saying. He was forcing it again.

Airplanes verse shits on this by a long way. I vote that his best guest verse after Relapse.

Some of this post is quite spot on, some maybe reading into it a little too much. Good spot on the literal manifestation of "never want to show that". My favourite part of the song suprisingly is actually from "rap was the only thing that I was ever really bad to the bone at" (though I wish this line wasn't in past tense, to me it makes him sound a bit defeated?) to the "hulk smash" line, because of where it falls on the beat. I don't like where he says "alright now here we go" though, that and the stay at home dad line kind of kill it a bit for me. I do enjoy the verse though.

Also, I bolded the lyrics in the quote because I noticed a long time ago how Em has a serious problem with double negatives, mainly in interviews but sometimes in songs too. I actually find them quite funny now though when I notice them, anyone ever really notice this?

Weird Al did. He noticed Em uses triple negatives.

Haha yeah I have seen that "interview", its pretty funny, probably where I remember the double negatives from.

He doesn't. He chooses to use grammatically incorrect urban slang.

It's not really slang though? I see what your saying about it being "urban" but I'm not sure he chooses to do it. He just thinks/talks/writes that way I guess.

Same thing was going through my mind last time I heard it (yesterday).

I find myself saying this part under my breath a lot:

"Nomad with a notepad
Go Taz, spaz on these ho bags
That bother me, but I never wanna show that
Just don't act like it ever does
Even though you know that there will never come
A day someone blows past you, never was
Someone who's as dope as you ever was
And you hope that's, true cause the competitor in you
Couldn't let someone be better than you
And you know that"

i find myself listening to this song like every other day... and same that part is so fun to rap lol :flutter:
