Are you looking forward to Southpaw?

I know many have been talking about this movie for awhile now although it has been dropped by Dreamworks and revived by Sony with a director and writer attached to the project. I am personally looking forward to the movie if it indeed goes through as Eminem will finish up on his 8th studio album and then maybe later start on the movie as the movie is postponed. Eminem`s performance in 8 mile was amazing and that movie was a great breakthrough performance for him and I really do like the concept for Southpaw as it is in some ways a metaphorical sequel to 8 mile but it will be cool to see Eminem fight in the movie and really show his talent in the realm of acting. It would be cool also if they use Cinderella Man as one of the main songs for the trailers or if Eminem writes original music for the soundtrack and maybe, I don`t know if possible win another Oscar, anything is possible right? Its Eminem afterall! So I`m just wondering what you guys think up to this point and if you agree with me.

I agree. I would personally like him to focus on music and when he is pretty much done with solo stuff music wise he should do some film work.

If he did some things here and there like his role in Funny People that would be great. But not starring in a full movie.

I wasn't really thrilled about the plot/idea of this movie, but I still wouldn't mind seeing it happen.

It's an interesting concept but there have been a lot of great fighting movies in the last few years, don't know that it could live up, mainly 'The Fighter', 'The Wrestler' and 'Warrior' I'm referring to.

It could work though, especially with a great soundtrack (as mentioned earlier) and premise. Guess we'll see.

Fun Fact: I read somewhere recently that Mark Wahlberg considered Eminem for 'The Fighter' in the role that Christian Bale won best supporting actor for.

Nah he was good on 8 Mile. A little bit too gangsterish, but the movie was great.
