50 Cent will be traveling to Dubai to headline the Atelier Festival on October 19. Chris Birk from from Dubai's 104.8 Channel 4 called the G-Unit boss yesterday to talk about that and a variety of other topics.

50 said he's going to be performing music from his recent mixtapes The Big 10, The Lost Tape, 5 (Murder By Numbers), in addition to new music off of his upcoming album, Street King Immortal at the festival.

"I feel like I've been doing material that's dated. Because my first album was so big that I had to perform those hit records for people," 50 said. "I wanna do new material. I wanna perform some of the stuff that I just did recently, so I'm switching the show up to try and balance it out where I can get a chance to get through the actual hits and then to some of the newer stuff."

The rap titan said he will be spending a few days in Dubia because he plans to attend GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) so he can introduce his SMS Audio headphone line.

"I'm turning into a gadget guy," Fif explained. "Now I'm starting to like it a lot."



The conversation then switched gears back to music and Street King Immortal.

50 said he will be releasing a new single from the album this week, talked about his start writing music on 1997, what inspired him to become a rapper and more.

think he loves schoolboy Q from what I have read, plus, he did a song with Q for 5' (song was damn good imo, perfect intro from 50, quiet and nice flow and then more energetic with schoolboy )but I doubt it will happen for that real album and I can't even see schoolboy on a single from Street king, 50 needs something more "mainstream but still hip hop" :/

Q loves 50 and vise versa, Q just got more talent and isn't all about the money :/

50 Cent is also cool with TDE's owner, TopDawg. They are both savy businessmen.

Also, I heard the track, in fact that's the only reason I downloaded 5. Dope shit but you're right, Q probably never be on a 50 Cent single because his name doesn't carry enough weight (yet). He might make the album though.

imo, the 50 cent's song from the 90-2000 era are so amazing that I can't imagine school having more talent =p

it's should be a matter of taste and at the moment, I don't really listen to 50 anymore but I just see his debut as one of the best of all time, even better than Eminem's very first songs =p
I only hope his talent is still there, hiding

I believe Q is more diverse musically and uses way more flows and styles. 50 Cent is all about his money/thug turned businessman persona. And that's fine, it's just I like what Q offers way more than anything 50 has done. Q will probably never have a hit like In da Club doe. I hope I'm wrong about that.

agree with ya, 50 cent always sounds the same, I guess that accident he had back in the days was important for his carreer as it changed his voice at that time, it was important to bring that "story" behind the character and gave him legitimity.
10 years later, it sounds boooooring to not have a different flow but he's still rly creative when it comes to do a chorus imo =p

I think 50 cent is more into that gangsta style than Schoolboy (more west coast style to me), he was legit at that time but now, it's like he didn't grow up and he comes back telling the same shit everytime :x

50 Cent has always been good at choruses, that's probably the main reason why he got famous. I like his first album, but everything else 50 Cent puts out doesn't even excite me in the least any more.

Damn, you got shot, you survive and you release a song like Heat, you can hear bullets in the beat and you just don't say " another one rapping about guns and death, nah it sounded great at that time =p).
from what I have read, kdot has also something good for his album, he had a poor life and the way he can tell us what happened to him is just amazing. For me, its like the same shit, great songs, perfect stories, legitimity,... I just hope he'll have a fucking great second album man coz the problem is having a great whole discoraphy (even the other big names can't do it though)

Oh, no I'm not disputing 50 Cent having an amazing story, he does. It just gets old when you have you're whole career dependent on one event. Kendrick's story is about being surrounded by the evils of the world, but seeing past them and making something for himself. If anyone can make the best discography though, I believe it's Kendrick because the dude is so focused. However, that could change, people go through a lot, look at Eminem. He had a perfect discography until Encore. Maybe Kendrick won't end up like that, but if he makes his career dependent upon being the good kid in a mad city, he'll end up like Nas & 50 Cent. He has to change it up every album, something I think he can do seeing his transition from each project to the next, the overall themes so far are never the same and they come with a different sound/style. But, let's stop talking about Kendrick, I shouldn't have brought him up in a 50 thread.


Anyone, I hope 50 Cent proves me wrong with this next single, but I doubt it. He doesn't have that energy or motivation he used to have. He also doesn't have the support from Interscope.

He needs to cut Kidd Kidd out of the picture completely. And they always said, "The best artists always have a story." Or at least the most well known artists have a story. Some cats just come up anonymous and it's not too hard to notice when they fade away since no one really felt them on a personal level anyway. They were only good for that one hit, or whatever. So, I know what you're saying.
