Yep, because the older most people get; the more stringent and stiffened they become in their thinking, their views and their opinions. So anything which differs from any of that is like a shock to the system; where as kids are free, open, uninhibited, aka; artists.

To put it beautifully. :y:

Children are seeing things in the world for the first time and seeing some basic things adults can't see, but they don't have the tools to make meaningful art out of it. Good artists are adults who are able to see things from that unadulterated perspective and put it into words/paintings/music/whatever.

An artist doesn't have to be capable, to be an artist.

There are many artists, many of them are shit. The term 'art' does not have to imply GOOD art, good or bad is preference, opinion... debate.

I didn't say children made great artists, I implied they summarized the foundation of what it means to be one. I think a great (adult) artist is a competent, intelligent, conscious person who still has the freedom, experimentation and innocence of a child; with all pluses of an adult.

what would u guys think would happen if he was just coming out now and had those songs like kim and all that... i think people would still be very shocked. it sounds like you guys disagree

although they would probably just be shocked cause it would be so much differnet from all the rap out at this time... lmao

 Lmfao, this song.. "wet and soft / getting off" etc. It's pretty good rhyming, nothing really terrible. But in Eminem's standards, it's bad. But still better than most

Yep. I wasn't attacking or questioning your post, just adding something to it.

Obviously the Eminem fans under 21 are going to be offended because they know his music. But the average person under 21 who isn't a big Eminem fan hasn't. The average person under 21 probably hasn't heard much of anything before Relapse aside form radio singles.

For example back in 2000 when Marshal Mathers LP came out there wasn't anyone that listened to rap that hadn't heard that album or at least the most controversial songs of the album. Whether you liked Em or not, Everyone played it because it was the most shocking thing out at the time. You heard it everywhere everyday. His songs and articles about the songs and him were everywhere. He was everywhere. You can not honestly say with a straight face, everyone who listens to rap under 21 has heard the marshal mathers lp. It's just not true. A 16 year old now would have been 4 when the hype for this was happening. I don't know how many times I've gotten blank stares at college talking about and old eminem song or video.
