It just seems my FB is blowing up with this shit, and I think the reasons WHY they share/like/follow these pages are the same. However, I have a problem with the Kony thing, but am pretty indifferent with the Amanda Todd thing.

Well I don't have a Facebook so I don't know. However I support Amanda Todd just as much as I support every kid that commits suicide, and no more. I think something needs to be done about teen suicide and she just happens to me one of the victims. I do think the Kony thing is incredibly stupid though, however I don't think they're similar.

Obviously attributing to someone's action of suicide is disgusting and something really fucked up, this girl was far from what people are making her out to be - again, not suggesting anything that happened was right.

What I don't get is...if you're being cyber bullied...delete your fuckin' Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or whatever dumb fuckin' social media is in existence. It's so easy to minimize the bullying when it comes to the Internet.

True, but if she had deleted her FB when the guy messaged her threatening to send the pic to everyone she knew if she didn't give him a show, he would've just sent the pic anyway. The bullying wasn't confined to the internet, just caused by it; she was getting bullied at school because of the guy. The only way to get out of that would have been to call the police - which is what bugs me about the story. Her parents knew about it, and they didn't call the cops on the guy who was spreading nude pics of their daughter around for the world to see? What the hell?

I know, but a lot of her abuse was from online too. Even if it'd alleviate a portion of the bullying, which on the Internet takes no effort for a 'bully' to do, then so be it.

Yeah I dunno...what were the cops going to do though?

track down the guy and put him in jail. She's a minor, and those are nude pics. That's child porn, or exploitation of a minor, or something.

I feel bad for the kids that commit suicide, but at the same time wouldn't saying you support a kid that commited suicide be encouraging someone to think it's ok to kill yourself. Not only that what if they did it to get attention? Attention they never felt they've recieved until they took their own life?

Obviously they're going through Hell, otherwise they wouldn't really off themselves. The brain has a responsibility to keep the organism alive as long as possible, so they'd have to be REALLY fucked up in the head because of stress, depression, etc to actually go through with the suicide.

Is it selfish? Perhaps, but I think it's more selfish of the loved ones to ask the person who's in so much pain to keep living with it. If it's so bad as to warrant ending their life, I doubt they can get over something like it...

It's their life, it's their choice. But I do feel for the families and friends of suicide "victims". It's rough on them too.

A dude I knew, we were friends, not real good and close friends, but friends, commited suicide 2 years ago. So I witnessed what his act did to his family and close friends. I was shocked and sad, but after the shock went away, I was mad at him.
