But isn't it obvious how they look supposed to match the content of the song?

Imagine this. You see Eminem's new album and it has a song called "Superman" on it. Your first thought is "God damn, he's dissing Christopher Reeve?! A whole song? This is gonna suck. My expectations have been lowered." Then you see a screenshot / picture from the set of Eminem with his ass out flashing a door / peephole.

Then you hear the song, finally, only to see that it's a twisted "love" song with a hell of a beat. Try being optimistic, or neutral. If you end up hating the song, that's your choice, but don't judge it by it's cover. It'll probably be way different than expected lol.

You know why is was out of character? He's not portraying himself, he's a character. Like he's done in nearly every non-personal video in his career. Trailer park = white trash. He's not going to dress like himself.
