The rapping duo of Eminem and 50 Cent spent the past two days in Detroit filming a music video that featured a dramatic car chase inside the mighty ruins of Michigan Central Station.
A helicopter buzzed over the train station early Monday morning, beaming a spotlight onto the exterior as sleek cars whipped around the ornate, illuminated lobby.
It was part of a two-day shoot that extended to a sheen stretch of Michigan Avenue in Corktown, where a helicopter pursued a speeding car.
Two dramatic scenes at the train station unfolded Sunday night and Monday morning virtually unnoticed by passers-by.
The long-vacant lobby – an architectural marvel – glowed underneath recently installed ceiling lights.
Most of the graffiti scrawled across the facade is now gone, as the owner, Matty Moroun, continues to clean up the long-neglected gem.
Security blocked off a stretch of Michigan Avenue between Trumbull and the Lodge, where a helicopter and car sped through in a daring scene.
More details of the music video weren’t immediately clear.
Check back for more information and a video of the helicopter buzzing around the ramped-up train station.
