I think this is acceptable/dope and his "chorus" on our house was cool too imo, but yep it sucks when its too high pitched as you said.

I think you might be right, but I also think that'll be a bad idea of 50's part if he's looking for a mainstream hit (which I think it's fair to assume he probably is).

Serious hip hop songs have gone out of fashion now. It wasin the "in" thing in 2009-2011, but if he's looking for a big hit, he needs a club song like that song he did with LoveRance (or even more in the direction of Buzzin', Down On Me, Right There from last year). I think that's why New Day didn't do well, even though it sounds like a huge hit. Songs like Empire State of Mind, Love the Way You Lie, Coming Home, All of the Lights, etc. used to smash, but we've gone past that time now, all the massive hip hop hits recently have been club tracks (stuff like Clique, Niggas in Paris, Mercy, etc.).

Adam Lavine being on the track pretty much guarantees it's not gonna be a club track though, so I think you're right.
