Yeah I need help finding a martial art. I don't like MMA or Kick boxing, or anything like that. I want something Asian. (lol)

They're so many and I don't know what I should take. I thought about doing Ninjutsu but there's no good Ninjutsu in my town.

Depends on what you want. Aikido is the best one if you want to learn defensive techniques.

I've done muay thai and boxing for about a year, and I love it.

Don't do an 'asian' martial art, 90% of them aren't practical at all. After about 6 months of training I was sparring with a taekwondo brown belt and I was beating him because he doesn't cover his face for some reason and telegraphs the fuck out of his flashy spinning kicks.

Real niggas know what Jeet Kune Do is. One of the most effective and complete Martial Art ever. I practiced it during two years.

but if its available around you id take Muay Thai. a stand up art is better for if you want self defense as it seems like you dont want it for sports needs. itll have hard training and shit but at a good level they all do so.
karate and all that are very up tight, having to call them sensei after every sentence and all that BS.

if your going for a sport, jui-jitsu is a nice second, Brazilian is better

A friend has been practicing Jeet Kun Do for 5-6 years now and he's extremely pleased with it, so I'd suggest that one.

Be careful when you choose to study at a martial arts dojo. 90% of the karate dojos in the United States (especially most of the tae kwon dos) are belt factories.

Any place where 12 year olds are getting blackbelts. People get blackbelts in 1 or 2 years. The instructor is under age 50. There is very limited to no physical contact. These are signs it's a McDojo (a bullshit dojo).

The blackbelts these dojos offer are no better than an orange belt in a REAL dojo.

Why am I saying this? Because for 1/4 of the price, you can get a gym membership instead.

LOL. It's an Israeli martial art that is taught in the Israeli military, moreso suited toward street fights rather than sanctioned sports. I'd take a decent Krav Maga program over 90% of the American bullshit dojos any day.

Lol. It's a Israelite art martial. That's quite .. different. And it's not random nonsense, Krav Maga is actually great as fuck.


Y'all should check out Jeet Kune Do. If you don't want competition but just self defense, it's just the most complete and best Martial Art, invented by Bruce Lee himself based on Wing Shu, and almost EVERY martial art.

There's submission, direct hits, kicks, punches, keys, everything you need to know in case someone wants to kick your ass. Do your reasearches everyone.
