Ok sure Em's verse in Numb wasn't great but why all the sudden are we doubting him? Em has always but out good music and now everyone is acting like its the end of the world that Em had a bad verse. Sure Em needs to stop collaborating with pop stars but its likely he is done with Rohanna and P!nk and now might do more MCs. Tech N9ne, Joe Budden, Kendrick, Young Jeezy, and Nas have all reached out to Em for a collab. The future of collabs Em does look bright.

Yes. From a technical standpoint Numb isn't a bad verse. It's really not even a bad verse anyway considering the content of the song in general...as I said in another thread Em takes concepts very literally.

ive actually been thinking about why numb has provoked such a massive storm of hate and thinking back to before it leaked expectations for this song were MASSIVELY high and all of us were expecting the same thing a serious verse on a hypnotic beat the sound of which we'd never heard him rap on before some posted fake lyrics some speculated on the content of his verse would it be a second sequel to ltwyl? would it be about feeling singled out for not pleasing fans? (lol) some even taked about him maybe tackling a global tragedy all this talk spanned over 150-ish pages and when the song finally leaked i think people felt tricked we knew the title was numb, heard the dark sounding snippit and the last thing we expected (or wanted) was a funny verse i think this is the reason why this song isnt fairing to well most people say its because hes been releasing sub-par material but i disagree as apart from throw it up i feel he hasent been i think the simple reason is we were all thrown for a loop

Exactly. He wrote exactly what was expected from him, given that he knew what Rihanna's intentions were. It seems like a throw away verse, like, made at the very last minute on the account of heavy request by her. I think he was just near her studio and she asked him come in and check out and see what she doing. Bang! on the spot she asked him to drop a "8" about rapping on "Ecstasy". Lol! Crazy possibility.
