EM's ''My life'' verse is way less complicated & a bit more direct than his other ones he usually does so basically it's even simple to get what he means. Ironically to when people complain EM dissed "Recovery'' he's actually unintentionally praising it, which is not hard to get either.

Even if Recovery was ultimate SHIT, it STILL would have brought him back into the spotlight. Recovery wasn't even that big, even though it did have its shine.

Not to mention there's probably a double meaning behind that line. Have you completely forgotten the reaction Eminem got from many people when he released the album: "Rapping with Rihanna? What a hypocritical cunt!"
