Apparently that's the full song.
"So one last time, I'm back, 'fore it fades into black and it's all over, behold the final chapter in the saga, trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle twice, the magic that started it all...tragic portrait of an artist tortured....trapped in his own drawings..." - Bruce.

an em verse on this song would be amazing I dont understand the thought process behind some of the things labels do.

Nope it's not... Dre does 2 verses & EM does the hook 3 times but it still ends at 2:30 mins.
One verse is missing & I think they were sending it to whoever for that verse when their e-mail was hacked. EM himself might have been the one who supposed to have a verse & I am almost sure he's layed one but Dre tries many artists on his songs before he uses his fave outcome so that was going to someone when they hacked it for sure.

At the OP... nothing happened & probably nothing more will happen to it as not only Dre holds like a thousand more songs in his vault that the public will never hear but on top of it whenever something leaks prematurely by whatever reason he totally locks it up for good.

The best thing that can happen actually is if Dre quits music... then out of boredom knowing he has nothing to lose anymore decides to leak all that shit... like ''No pressure, I don't need it anymore, why the fuck not let it out''!

Love Die Hard, would love to have Em on the 3rd verse. Sometimes I think its too bad it leaked.
TrShady is just great. A place where pompousus blowhards can connect with other pompousus blowhards, and form a vast circle jerk of pomposity.

It wasn't leaked  They used this song for a boxing promo. The full track was supposed to release in May 2011 as I remember.

True, but that's a leak right there too...
Dre never does that & he didn't personally do it or noone from Aftermath or Shady did it. Dre stays in the studio most of the time & Interscope people get pre singles then they plan how to release them. Dre keeps his stuff really tight & would never release anything out if it's not FULLY finished or if he's not 100% happy about it. That's why ''Detox'' is still locked anyway. I think Interscope were tasting the waters but that's not an official release of a song esp. for a single with Em on it.
Similar thing happened to ''Crack a bottle'' when Interscope people fucked up & gave unfinished version with EM doing all 3 verses to a DJ who put it on his mixtape. Then they were forced the release the song & Dre's said a hundred times he was unhappy with that whole situation.
They fucked up with 50's ''Outlaw'' & ''I'm on it'' & Yela's ''Gangsta of love'' the same way too.
They put it out prematurely & probably just like Yela did Dre took it off & locked it for good.

Em's hook on this is badass as hell.

I've yearned for him to create decent rap hooks again, like, big rap hooks ("White America" / "The Way I Am") and not just sample or try sing... but, when I hear this, if he wants to make his music bigger (which I sense is why he does get singers or try sing, he likes to keep building on what he's done rather than go backwards or remain the same), he could definitely create some monster hooks like this on big themes. Hopefully he does almost all his own hooks on the next one.

Seems like Em wrote Dre's parts there too. Some of the phrasing/rhymes are Em-ish.

Yep, like most songs they are together on EM write all verses... the only thing missing is his verse & it's obvious it supposed to be on this record.
I was wondering earlier about how this song kinda sounds like a sequel to ''I need a doctor'' content wise... it really connects to it.

I totally forgot about this song. I've always assumed that the full version was never released, but I guess that really was the whole song.

It's too short & they even gave certain date for the release date of the full version so it isn't the full song for sure but it's the full version of it we'll ever get to hear anyway so ironically for us it is the whole song indeed.
