Are Pharmacology doctor that they're misconceptions about illegal drugs
That can happen, but not usually without the help of another drug. I've had some pretty vivid flashbacks before, but only when I was stoned off of certain strains of marijuana. Even then, a flashback isn't what people make it out to be. It's a visual distortion, sure, but your mental capacity is unaltered, and it isn't dynamic--meaning, it doesn't happen everywhere you look, but rather only to certain patterned objects that resemble elements from your trip. They're short-lasting, and very mild...more like an optical illusion, than anything else.
LSD has a lot of myths surrounding it. So do mushrooms. I had heard that mushrooms make your brain bleed (false), shrink your dick (false...can't shrink an atom), and that LSD will drive you insane after 7 hits (also false). It's just like the myths surrounding marijuana, but harder dispute because psychedelics are both less widespread and more tightly controlled, making it harder to do scientific analysis to dispute the claims.
