She eventually got money, and her music started clicking again..so naturally she's happy and dresses brighter now.
Who cares what she looks like? And she's said multiple times that her entire album isn't all happy, sarcastic stuff like C'mon Let Me Ride.
Yep. I'm an hour from the Wisconsin border (where she grew up) and it AIN'T full of emos and goths, LMAO! THAT was a phase for her, IMO. Maybe this is more redneck for her than in the past, but what the hell is wrong with people dressing like the mood they're in at the time?
So what if she wants to wear black and dye her hair black for a year? And then change it? She still has a great voice, IMO. I think Holly Brook was more her persona, and this is now a little more rural than that, but the emo thing wasn't more than a phase for her. As it is for most people. How many grown adults you know who walk around in goth/emo styles?

Marilyn Manson doesn't count because that's his whole stage persona he's developed.
I just don't get her fans tweeting her that they like her when she's more moody or dark and want her to go back to that. That's fucked up. If she's happy, why should she pretend she's sad and depressed? Let her write what the hell she wants. I love her other songs. But I'm not mad at her if she wants to write something more lighthearted and happy.
And I certainly won't bore you with my feminist ideas on why there seems to be a backlash against her from some of her previous fans for daring to write a song about sex. Because God knows, mainstream America doesn't like to hear about good girls liking or enjoying sex.
