Oh, ok...

So the only thing you were wondering was the "punch ins" bit then? Or were you asking a rhetorical question to highlight the double entendre?

Well sorta.. I knew what he was going for. I could just never actually tell which literal word he was using.. as in "punches" or "punch-ins". As well as trying to point out. If that makes sense.

Yeah AI but he didn't have to use the words "weak shit" and "fake shit". That's more of a personal statement than anything and to me it comes off as weak and fake.

Really?

Pulling all punches would result in something that is pretty weak (since it would be completely inoffensive) and fake (since it basically a watered down version of the true message) to me. I mean, I suppose that comes down to personal preference for the terms themselves though.

Of course, if you apply the weak/fake bit to the first part of the play on words, I guess that's kind of a bad choice, but to me that's separate. Just like the "first take I make, mistakes just keep it" isn't really connected to the "No punches pulled" aspect of the phrasing either. They're connected in the way that the punches are punch ins, and also punches to either be pulled or not to be pulled. It's bridging the gap on the phrases.

But then again, maybe I'm looking too far into why you dislike the phrasing, lol.

See: 2012 Eminem

Didn't he basically run himself into the ground though? (2005-07)

Jk, but seriously.. he's not wack.

He's not...but some of his features have been.

Of course, he didn't *technically* put out some of the worst ones...though "Throw it Up" was put out by Shady Records, so I suppose that one could be argued.

So you think he says:
"First take I make mistakes just keep it, no punches.
Pull no punches- that's weak shit. Fake shit"?
In that case, I understand where you are coming from. I still don't like that he said no punches right before a song that is literally full of them.

Yes, essentially.

First take I make, mistakes just keep it
No punches pulled. No punches? That's weak shit!
Fake shit!

That's how it splits up to me, but I do get what you mean. TIC is one of those songs with quite a few punches.

Does it occur to you that there's Eminem and there's MBMIII? So basically if Eminem told you he jumped off a bridge yesterday you'd be like "Whoa he's a superhero! He jumped off a bridge and didn't die!!!!111"

Stop taking everything the guys says in a song literally, thank you very much. Let the guy troll as much as he likes for fuck's sake.

Em said that he could never imagine himself making love songs in the future, in 10 years, that is. He said that in 1999, and in 2010, well, you know...

Is that contradiction?
