The first 2 seasons had better pacing. The story flowed more naturally.

Amadeo wrote:I actually reached the end of season 4 just before. Seasons 3-4 definitely aren't as good, but still great IMO.

There are too many "wow-that-was-a-close-call" moments in Season 4.

It's also getting quite ridiculous how Walt continues to fool Hank under his nose. Although Walt fooling Skylar in early seasons was always funny.

Yeah, I compared season 3 to TES because it finishes so strong. Fly/Half Measures/Full Measure = Hailie's Song/Sing For the Moment/Till I Collapse.

The ending to One Minute was brilliant, too. Dean Norris should've won an Emmy for his performance in that one.

I now understand this reference. I really liked this episode and thought it was one of the stronger ones in Seasons 3-4. Shows just how much of an obsessive perfectionist he is, and didn't rely on so much action/explosions/gore like the latter episodes of S4.

Yeah, a lot of idiots with no taste think it was "hoarrribulll"/"borrrrr-ingggg"/"NOTHING HAPPENED!" Don't try to explain what character-driven story is to them.

I even saw one reviewer jumping on the whole Heisenberg = evil, Walt = good bandwagon...it's stupid that they think he becomes "evil" when he puts on his "Heisenberg hat" when he's killed plenty of people without it.

Just realized... Skyler = Kim. Skyler is a complete cunt, and Eminem certainly describes Kim as one in his songs. LOL.

By the way, if I ever do a George Carlin biopic, Jonathan Banks (Mike) has the leading part on lock.

I used to watch this show up until season 3. I don't know what it was exactly that drove me away from the show, but I wouldn't mind revisiting it and catching up. A lot of people seem to hail it as one of the best shows that came out in the past few years.

Bryan Cranston should've won the Emmy for his performance in Crawl Space. Aaron Paul was fantastic in Problem Dog.

Love this line from Fly
I truly believe there exists some combination of words. There must exist certain words in a certain specific order that can explain all of this, but with her I just can't ever seem to find them.

The cast talking about Fly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV1RJfgnUWA

Season 5 is my least favorite so far. Can't say I'm a fan of those "mission" episodes. Still enjoyable and very much looking forward to what's next.

By the way, here's a bit from IGN's review of One Minute:

Nothing more needs to be said. "One Minute" speaks for itself. If you have a friend who wants to get into this show, don't let them start at the beginning. Start at this episode.
What a terrible advice.

^ Nice comparison, except I don't find Shameless/Chewed Up to be Louis' best / wittiest work. I actually find Hilarious and Live at the Beacon Theater to be his best work. With Hilarious probably being his best... I just think the themes and the way he nails things in that is SO fucking funny and honest. I think he took his comedy to a new plateau with his latest two; it was all still very personal and centering around his life but... yeah, Hilarious is maybe his MMLP to me, as it comments on society more and just meshes all the elements so brilliantly.

PS. his series is a fucking masterpiece. Can't wait for the new season.

I concur but at the end of the day his last 2 videos have been pleasantly surprising, collectively. They delivered signs of "resurgence" and ingenuity.

The First two seasons of BB were amazing even though I feel that confronting Tuco as Heisenberg was far too early in Walt's character before he could have confidently got the balls and just go in there guns a blazing. Also the season 2 finale was beyond contrived it was equivalent to a soda can falling because a cockroach landed inside it and making my dog get up and run around the room in a frenzy before jumping on the table and eating all the spaghetti and pasta in it. The whole finale was a bombastic way of saying that Walt's actions have consequences and yada yada yada but could have been presented in a much more believeable manner.

Also SPOILERS I guess

but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the whole Walt/Krazy 8 plate scene was one of the if not the best moment in the show. Everything about it was perfect the way Walt put the pieces together, his reaction to all of it, the lighting (his silhoutte coming down the stairs showcase a different man who's less naive), the way he kills Krazy 8 everything was perfect. Definitely an underrated scene and probably my favorite in the whole show. It also is all the more satisfying seeing as how the episode before that was a bit slow and we went through a 10 minute scene before that where they were just getting to know each other.

Eminem needs to do a song with Skyler GREY called "Criminal 2," rapping as Walt. Then Skyler GREY can say, "Walt, you're a CRIMINAL" in the hook.

Another parallel - both Walt and Eminem are in the midst of midlife crises. Walt decided to keep cooking meth because he regrets being a pussy for all those years and not telling Skyler to climb down out of his ass, and Eminem decided to start rapping about how big his dick is because he regrets failing miserably in bed with every woman he's had sex with (all 2 of them - Kim, and Mariah...once).
