Am i stupid? I thought that the hint with his rhyming -orange-/-door hinge- was in that that he pronounced -orange- like "oringe".

That's how it's supposed to be pronounced.

How the hell else would you say it? Some people might say it really fast in everyday conversation and just go, "hey, I'll have some ornge juice" (as one syllable), but that's about it.

Who knows how these stupid British turds like Menzo think it's supposed to be pronounced.

Nobody says "or-rang" with a soft "a" sound. It's a soft "i" sound.

Lol, calm down. I'm British and I when I say 'orange' and 'door hinge' they rhyme, slightly. I think it may also be down to my dialect, too.

Nobody on here has given any alternate pronunciation for "orange." All they're saying is that it's apparently not pronounced, "oar-inge."

It's like they're saying the sky is not blue, and I go, "then what color is it, idiot?"...and they never answer the question and instead tell me to "chill out."

Some people in Minnesota say, "AR-inj," but they're neither here nor there. It's "or-inj" to the vast majority of Americans.

And the most ridiculous part of all - there is a much better example of Eminem bending rhymes (in his head, not in his delivery) in the very next series of lines.

"Or stole my seat in the lunchroom and drank my chocolate milk
Every time you tipped my tray and it dropped and spilt."

Most people (including Eminem) pronounce "chocolate" as "CHALK-lit," but Eminem was thinking along the lines of pronouncing it, "CHOCK-lit." But he didn't change the pronunciation, much the same way he didn't change it in the Rock Bottom chorus when he rhymed "mad enough to kill" with "bad enough to steal." He just said "kill" and "steal" normally.

That right there illustrates Eminem's mindset in those days. He was in no mood to try to bend words. He wrote down some rhymes that only worked with alternate dialects, but when he went into the booth, he wanted to be completely into the content of what he was saying to deliver the lines as a voice actor, as opposed to trying to emphasize any bent rhymes he had in there.

Relapse Eminem, on the other hand, changed the pronunciation every time...even to ridiculous extremes.

You are an unfathomable fucking dipshit...quite possibly the biggest idiot on this entire forum, and that's really saying something.

Yes, Dr. Dre is an idiot when it comes to writing lyrics, you stupid twit. Why do you think he has ghost writers write all his lyrics for him? Because he's a complete fucking doofus who can't write anything to save his life.

Even then, he's still smarter than you. Having seen other idiotic posts of yours, I know this isn't a one time thing. You are one of the biggest imbeciles I've ever seen anywhere, and that's quite a feat. I recommend you try cyanide tablets.

Dre knows a lot about rap. He's been in the game producing. And he can write a little bit too. yeah he has ghost writers, but he's done stuff himself. I would take more stock in the words of a millionaire rapper/producer that knows Em personally than some angry stan on an internet forum.

He's known Em since the late 90's and probably has a good sense of his style.

But calm down, I guess you're mad cause you are some lonely asshole on new years yelling at people on a internet message board. Here's a beer. :b:

Dre worked with guys like Snoop Dogg and was used to hearing rhymes like "Dre" and "day" and "AK."

Dre has as much say in Eminem's lyricism as I do (i.e., none). They work together like an assembly line - Dre makes the beats, Eminem goes in the other room and writes the lyrics to the beat, and then they get together and record it.

Dre sits back and admires Eminem's rapping as a fan. But does Dre go, "wow, inverse multi there...wow, A-B-A-B...wow, A-B-B-A...wow, that multi actually goes back 2 words more than I realized?"

Fuck, no. Dre listens to the overall song and either goes, "this is dope," or, "yo, no disrespect, but I ain't really feelin this, dawg."

EminemInsider wrote:Prime Eminem wasn't big on bending words. He rhymed series of words because they rhymed, fit beautifully together, and nobody else could think of them. That's what made him great.

When people say he "rhymes/rhymed words that don't really rhyme," I want to say these people are idiots. Every song writer (not just rapper) rhymes words that don't really rhyme. Here are some non-rhymes in Like a Rolling Stone (Bob Dylan):

didn't you/kidden you
home/unknown/stone
used to get/juiced in it
got it made/pawn it babe
used/refuse

Why do you say those are non-rhymes...? They obviously rhyme.

Jesus Christ, HOW FUCKING STUPID ARE YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!?!?!

HOLY FUCK, GOD DAMN IT ARE YOU FUCKING MORONS.

GOD.

:facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm :facepalm

No, they don't technically rhyme, morons. Didn't and "kidden'" do not technically rhyme. The "t" being pronounced in "didn't" prevents it from actually rhyming.

"home" and "unknown/stone" do not rhyme. "Home" rhymes with "chrome" and "dome." "Stone/unknown" rhymes with "bone" and "alone."

"used" rhymes with "abused."

"got" does not rhyme with "pawn," and "made" does not rhyme with "babe." "Made" rhymes with "fade." "Babe" rhymes with "abe."

If a consonant is off, it doesn't technically rhyme.

I say it like "ornge". Lmao, if you think everyone says/is supposed to say it like "oar-inge", you've got to be trolling. I'm from America, and I've very rarely heard anyone say it like that. Living in Michigan, Georgia, and Texas, I've heard many different people pronounce the word. Never heard it being said like 'oar-inge' in regular conversation.

Kill yourself, you unbelievable dolt.

NO, they are NOT pronounced the same, you fucking imbecile. Chocolate is pronounced, "CHAWK-lit" by most Americans, not "CHOCK-lit." It has nothing to do with the silent "L." It's the difference between the "o" sound in "coffee" and "nonsense"..."cost" and "roster."

You are so unfathomably stupid that every fucking explanation of phonetics sails over your vacant head. Every single fucking time.

How did you get so dumb? I'm serious...it doesn't seem humanly possible.

Eedee wrote:Ever heard of slant rhymes? Talk about embarrassing yourself.

"Slant rhyme" is a lay person's way of referring to, "assonance." Assonance is the simple repetition of vowel sounds. It doesn't refer to true rhymes.

There isn't a dictionary in the world that will tell you "orange" is only one syllable. Why do you think that is?

You're obviously a piss-poor listener if you don't think most people pronounce it "oar-inge"...and a lazy speaker yourself.

You're fucking retarded.

"CHAWK" and "CHALK" and "CHOC" are all pronounced the same.
"COST" and "ROSTER" have the same "o" sound... Say "cost her" then say "roster"... they fucking rhyme.

Assonance and slant rhymes are different. Assonance is like "laying vacant since apes in April ate... etc"... it's vowel sounds.
Slant rhymes = "apeshit" and "vacant" are slant rhymes because "ape" rhymes with "vac-" and "shit" rhymes with "-ant" (int)... you're fucking retarded.

Where are you from? You are really fucked up if you think "chalk"/"coffee"/"balk"/"walk" are pronounced the same as "cock/rock/block/roster."

This is unbelievable. Where are you morons crawling out from?
