Solace wrote:Here is my review. Although I've already heard half of this over the past year-ish, the verses haven't gotten bland or anything. Why does the tracklist on your post say Fly Away rather than In The End? Not going to do some detailed analysis, you don't really need it, just some thoughts on the tracks I haven't heard before. The verses were generally all dope. My favourites are Cobwebs, Intro, Beautiful Sorrow, and In The End.

Intro
This is very good, and one of the best parts of the EP. Several quotables throughout this, and I especially love that Eve line. I feel it really set the tone for the tape well. And I know you've been wanting to record this song for a long time now, the piano backdrop and all. It worked really well.

Hip Hop
This is interesting actually. I loved the references to Atmosphere, Eyedea, Rakim, Sadistik, etc. I didn't expect that at all. I think a lot of people would respect that. The chorus got repetitive after a while though.

Feel Alive
The 2nd verse was awesome, you went in. The first verse reminded me of that song you did on the Apex tape. I think you should've ended this earlier because it went on 1 minute of just instrumental.

Hopefully this gets good reception from your peeps at uni too.

Ahh shit I forgot to change the title :facepalm

Oh well, thanks for the feed though :worship: and thanks to everyone else too

You kill every track on this tape tbfh. I have been bumping it non-stop and have no doubt I would have paid for it if it was on iTunes or something :y:

Hip-Hop is fucking dope and I love the intro and opening lines on "In The End" ("They say that a picture says a thousand words/ but a song paints a thousand pictures when a sound is heard").

Thanks man that means a lot. And I can't accept anyone's money right now because I don't own any beats but you can help me out by just showing it to anyone you think would like it.

I played it for my housemates and they were impressed. One of them said he had Beautiful Sorrow's chorus in his head all night at work :y:

Just listened to Hip Hop. The second verse is fucking ridiculous. Like geez haha, that was awesome. The song as a whole is really nice, the rhymes are crafted with the flow very well, nice stuff. The hook was cool as well, matches with the beat nicely, and I'm always a fan of rapping the chorus (if you're good at it haha). Overall very nice, I hope to listen to more soon.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I put a lot of effort into this and it means a lot that at least some people are enjoying it.

Interesting fact about Hip-Hop, I wrote that song because someone on here challenged me that I couldn't write a song with as many rhymes as Lose Yourself.

It would help if we had typed up lyrics for the song... then again we'd be doing the same thing you hate the "hidden rhyme" thread for doing.

The rhymes are obvious and there are a lot of them. Hip-Hop is very well written.

I know this, but it helps to have the lyrics in front of you regardless.

But what you were saying was that having the lyrics in front of you would lead to you doing what class hates about that thread. What class was ragging on that thread about was his perception that people were grasping at straws for rhymes, reaching for unintentional inverse multis.

SliK was saying you all wouldn't have to do that, because the rhymes are obvious. He wasn't knocking the advantage of having the lyrics in front of you, but rather your (perhaps sarcastic) assertion that having the lyrics in front of you would lead to people reaching and grasping for rhymes that aren't there at all.

^ Alright. That's not what I meant at all, actually. He was boasting about having as many rhymes as Lose Yourself (or at least coming close) and I just it would help us if we had the lyrics in front of us to read as it went along. That way we could pick out hidden rhymes and shit like Em did in LY.
