Em the producer

Postby Jimmy Conway » Jan 11th, '13, 06:28

He's underrated. I really think it's a shame that he hasn't produced more over his career. I really thought when the Eminem Show came out that he would be doing the majority of his own beats for the rest of his career. I hope that he releases an album before he retires that he produces at least half the songs on.

His beats were very well suited for him.

It gave solidity to the songs, I think. I would probably die happy if Em released an album produced by himself, Dre, and FBT. Unfortunately, it's never going to happen, and we're all going to die empty inside.

I can't find the video, but he basically said in an interview about Eminem show that he knew how he wanted the beats the sound better than anyone, so he wanted to be producing his own stuff. Wish he still thought like that.

He's definitely underrated, and I don't get how people can mostly agree The Eminem Show is his best produced work (almost entirely done by him) and then scoff at the idea of him being a top producer or anywhere near Dre's bracket... when they're saying his work is better than work Dre has done for him, when Dre was in his total element... :confusion:

I love his production, he's one of my favorite producers. Wish he would do it more and I hope his next album has at least a few Em beats on there. He sounds the best over his own beats and beats suited to him like Dre and Mr. Porter's.

I always thought his beats sounded a bit similar to each other.

It's called a style. When a Dre beat comes on, more times than not, you know it's a Dre beat.

But Em's beat, for the most part, are original, unique and good.

I hope he does have at least a few tracks produced by him on the next album. Recent self production: My Darling, Beautiful, Careful What You Wish For are all really good.

"Square Dance" sounds like "Till I Collapse"?

I never get when people say that. Em has a style, you can tell the beats are his, but you should always be able to tell the work of any great artist. You can always tell a Tarantino movie is a Tarantino movie, but I wouldn't say all his movies are similar.

Em is a sick producer... he has a style, yes, but they don't sound similar a lot of the time. It's always fresh.

I meant the sounds he uses. The kicks, snares, percussion...it all sounds similar. I understand he has a signature sound but it wouldn't hurt to get out of your comfort zone.

He helped make Young Buck's greatest song every. For that, I shall give thy Shady his props. Good producer
