[Verse 1: Eedee]
You ever feel like you're as small as an ant farm?
Having bad falls and there's no one I can call?
All my life I've been searching for this feeling
I find it funny cuz now that I did the world's gonna end,
I'm finally comfy in my own skin.
That's something that I have to accept. I'm slowing everything.
Everytime I go in-to the booth, I flow with all my passion mustered
like acting up and I'm rapping up a
Storm, kinda like the one that'll wipe us
Off the Earth - tick tock. The time's up.
I'm like "what?" as an object crashes,
Into the ocean and the waves come smash us.
And the temperature rises as the dust and smoke
Rolls into my eyes and as I run and choke.
As I come my home is torn apart maliciously,
With no regard to human life, the Earth is nearing victory.

[Chorus: Mat Demaz]
It's all gone now,
The pieces of the puzzle don't fit...
It's all gone now,
We gotta carry on...

[Verse 2: TripleNineThree]
December 21st, it came and gone
But it's gettin' worse we will not be stayin' long
Grown men preyin' on kids now their lives are gone
With a knife or bomb, their trying to right a wrong
The world is going down the drain but if my mic is on
I will keep on flowin' about the King cuz the date is set
Everything is fallin' destined to break your neck
Then you're gonna hear the sound of God have you payed your debt?
You're like "What debt?" Well the debt of sin
We all deserve death and if you don't let Him in
You'll be settlin' in Hell with the Devil's men
That day is coming like a thief in the cover of night
And you don't wanna have beef with my Brother the Light
A sword is comin' from His teeth just to show you His might
A robe splashed in blood yeah you will lose the fight
But before this actions done I pray you choose the Christ

[Bridge: Mat Demaz]
even though we're still here
we are pretty much dead anyway
society is crumbling from the inside
we gotta come together
and stop this madness
in my mind is an apocalpyse
and each day it it just pounds my head
I just feel like everything's been destroyed

[Verse 3: Mat Demaz]
My mind's apocalyptic my thoughts are really cryptic
pain is what I'm filled with my hope has been stripped
when I see the light I have to survive another fight
I can't see too well in the night unless there's someone by my side
each day I wanna hurl I keep dreaming about that girl
I just wanted to give her a whirl but she don't want me in her world
life is a pain I hate it but I'm too tenacious
there's no escape you won't see me with a blade
slicing my veins praying helplessly each day
the devil's hate has caged me I'm getting more insane
sometimes I wanna die but really I must try
it's a good thing I'm kind but people wanna criticize
I wanna be with guys that share my views and wanna ride
maybe then my life will be better without trife
you won't see me tripping everyone else is slipping
I maybe not winning yet but let's see the plot thicken

Wowzers. I really enjoyed this. The only thing I wasn't huge on was the bridge, sort of felt like it bogged down the song. Other than that, great. I really really liked it.

It just sort of felt out of place in what was a fantastic song. :)

I think it was good because it was like he was under rubble of the world crumbling and shit.

To each his own though, brah. Thanks for listening!

Yeah, to be fair though, I never really like breaks in any song it doesn't matter who's it is. I like to just be able to listen and vibe through the whole thing.

Like the break in Ciminal by Em, I fucking hate it and that's one of my favorite songs.

So I finally heard the song, and... wow.

Dude, that delivery was by far my favorite from you. It blended so well with the beat (which was a great choice for this type of song), and you sounded so natural. Sometimes you have this rather awkward emphasis on your syllables, but not on this song. Maybe this can also be attributed to the mixing (which was fantastic by the way, Demaz), because you were somewhat quieter or something. Either way it was great.

I never really was all that fond of some your metaphors though (even if they did rhyme just fine), like the first 2 lines for example;

"You ever feel like you're as small as an ant farm?
Having bad falls and there's no one I can call?"

(^This actually sounded really good to me because of your voice and flow, as I mentioned)
However, "as small as ant farm" and "having bad falls" just sort of seem rather weak. They're not that thought provoking nor do they make me really 'feel' for the verse. I do applaud your appreciation for rhymes though.

That being said, you still do have some really cool sounding lines that do their job as emotional yet creative, in my opinion. The next few lines for example;

"All my life I've been searching for this feeling
I find it funny cuz now that I did the world's gonna end,
I'm finally comfy in my own skin"

I like the irony of how one's end is coming right after they've come to terms with just being themselves. Plus, there was no really out of place word choice in those lines.

Mat Demaz is one hell of an engineer. The entire song was perfectly mixed (on my headphones anyways) and the chorus sounded awesome. I was somewhat worried his verse and the bridge were going to sound a little bit off because sometimes they do when he does his 'voices' and stuff, but no the animation of it really suited the song perfectly.

Some of the rhyme scheme may have been a tad generic in my opinion, but the verse was still really solid and I'm a sucker for emo shit.

TripleNineThree, what's the story behind your name, if you don't mind me asking? You may have already said it, but truthfully I haven't kept up with your work as much as I'm not very religious myself (no offense or anything, just not my type of music).

Either way, your verse sounded great as well; nice mixing. You know how to rhyme and you rode the beat really well. The "brother of light" rhyme scheme sounded really cool midway through your verse. There was quite a bit of suspense too with some of your lines like;

"Everything is fallin' destined to break your neck
Then you're gonna hear the sound of God have you payed your debt?"

(^The effects were awesome lol)
Plus, your word choice made it sound more interesting.

Eedee, this was probably my favorite song from you. The production was great and all of you went in. "Phoenix" sounds like it's going to better than "Ashes" to be honest.

Dope that you got this released! Thanks for the feedback 12characters. I don't have any elaborate or even religious story behind my name as everyone thinks haha - it's simply my birthday. I was born on september 9th, 1993 which translates into 9-9-93 (hence TripleNineThree) lol

Eedee, I retract my previous statement. I listened to this again today when I was in a better mood, the bridge fits.

@CP - Hehe awesome.

@12characters - Holy crap! Wow. Thanks for the intense feedback! I really appreciate the time you took to write that. Demaz and I are extremely happy we're finally getting some love. And as for the "ant farm" bars, yeah, they're sorta weak, but overall I'm happy with my verse! Thanks for listening and yes, I honestly believe Phoenix is gonna blow Ashes out of the water.

Nice track, everyone was on point.

ED, the only thing I noticed that was off about your delivery was between 0:37 and 0:42. It wasn't that noticeable, but the "rappin up a -- storm" bit seemed a little off. I mean, it works, but that's the only negative thing I really have to say about it.

Everyone's verses go together, and Demaz did a good job on the chorus.
"America...just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable" — Hunter S. Thompson

"Poison the well, your enemies are thirsty!" — Modest Mouse

Thanks!

For the part you mentioned, I meant it to go with "passion mustered / rapping up a ..." so you'll be like, rapping up a what? (even for the briefest of time) and then I say "Storm", ya know? Lol, it's whatever to be honest.

Cheers! :y:

Geno wrote:Everyone was good. I think 9993 took it though overall. His verse sounded the most crisp and clear, and he had great delivery. It was really great. I generally dislike Christian / religious content but he always makes it so enjoyable so I don't even care. :y:

Eedee, I agree with Abram about the pauses in your lines. It's kinda weird, and to me, feels lazy, but other than that your verse was on point like usual.

Demaz surprised me with the hook, I didn't know he could sing like that. It worked, and fit perfectly. It felt more like his song rather than yours, Eedee. He had more vocal time, which was kinda odd. I would've thought you'd speak / rap the bridge instead.

Demaz, try not to overdo the emotion in your delivery. There's a fine line to walk, and I think you went over just a little bit. It almost sounded forced. You could've been a lot more mellow on it and it would've been more effective. It's well written though.

@Eedee - When's the tape dropping? Also, I wanna hear the song I'm on before anyone else lol. I gotta PM you about something too.

Boy! Um... dropping later this Spring. A few months probably. Give us a few more weeks and we'll figure out a date lol And yeah, I'll show you the song before anyone else.

PM me, then.
