Definitely agree. Or at least when he raps fast, to just stay one speed and not force too many words in a line.

When has he done that recently?
Fuck top five, bitch, I'm top four
And that includes Biggie and Pac, whore
And I got an Evil Twin
So who the fuck do you think that third and that fourth spot's for?

The Our House verse is the epitome of him slowing/calming it down. He hit the beat perfectly, which was an indifferent beat. I'm shocked you would use THIS verse as an example of wanting him to slow/calm it down (THEN CLAIM TO HAVE ONLY LISTENED TO IT TWICE!)

I'm not gonna sit here and defend every em verse as of late, but jeez, pick an example that at least backs up your point.

If Em never rapped fast again, that would be fine with me.

He can make it work sometimes. But he needs to just get back into his wheelhouse.

He's seemed to have forgotten to pay attention to what sounds good. Having witty, creative, smooth lyrics that sound good.

He seems too concerned with trying to fit in. Like he is trying to find a new relevant sound. "rap" these days are on these really overly produced shit beats and the sounds rely way too much of punchlines and em has fallen into that.

Em can make amazing stories rapping really simple words. All the greats can do that. He's done it throughout his career.

I'm too lazy to find some lyrics to make my point. But you stans probably have every em song memorized by now and know what I am talking about.

See, this is the type of shit that you should post more often.

Regardless of whether or not people agreed with you, at least they could respect this type of opinion. I do think he's over-thinking some of it. He needs to find a comfort zone between overly obsessive and ridiculously lazy. Slap something somewhere between Relapse and Encore in that regard, and I think we'd get something fantastic.

I loved his voice on there. And I really never felt that he over did it or anything. Some of the songs the accent really isn't even there.

I really think Em can win no matter what subject matter he goes with as long as they are smooth, well written on good beats. He isn't held down by his past because he jumps around so much. What I mean is he has his personal life, he has serial killer stuff, he really has jumped around a lot his entire career and that opens him up more to growth, unlike someone like Nas who feels he has to talk about Queens bridge and New york all the time. That he has to talk about the streets. Or snoop dogg with women and weed.

I don't feel like Em has a set "thing". He covers so many topics. I really hope he combines crazy and personal. Like the eminem show mixed with relapse. Just smooth.

Yeah man. That's why I love Relapse so much. It's just... so easy to listen to. It's nice on the ears hearing everything from Dre's beats to Em's smooth flow and voice coupled with his lyricism and infectious delivery.

It's nice.

I like verses like My Life, but it's all over the place. He needs to find that comfort zone again like he had on Relapse and either get Dre or himself to produce most of it. If he does that, and comes up with more original stories like As The World Turns and Brain Damage, I think we could get some great material.

He just needs to stop trying to sound like niki manaj or Lil wayne.

I understand though, he's 40 years old. He doesn't want to become dated. But you don't have to sound like everyone else to stay relevant. He can keep making traditional rap, just stay creative.

This.

Also yeah Slim Cary, that's what we're talking about when we say criticizing respectfully instead of doing it to be a dick. Very thoughtful post. :y:

It works on some songs, like Despicable, Not Afraid etc. Sometimes it sounds good but sometimes it doesn't. I don't mind it. But his voice and flow on C'mon Let Me Ride and The Reunion and hooks like the one on Talk To Me is the kind of stuff I want on his next album

:confusion:
The fuck? Are we listening to the same song? Are smoking crushed cornflakes right now? That verse is all over the fucking place, kid. There's no "epitome of him slowing it down" about it whatsoever. It's no Reunion and sure as hell ain't no If I had. You have no idea what you're talking about. You probably started listening to Eminem when you heard Lighters on the radio and now you think you know everything.

It didn't bother me on Recovery except for WBD, mostly his post Recovery screaming did.

I never minded it, though on a few songs it does get annoying because it's unnecessary. On songs like Seduction, Above The Law, and Almost Famous it's really dope. On other songs, not so much. But I never minded it like most of the rest of you because it suited Em for a while.

With that said I hope his voice is like it's been since 2012. Smooth. I want him to start focusing on what he's saying rather than how he's saying it and how fast he's saying it.

Many of the songs of Recovery wouldn't be the same without the screaming. Is his way to put some anger in there.

People bitched a lot about LTWYL part 2 because of the screaming, but to me it fits perfectly there. And the way he stars with a chill voice and goes to the screaming one... :flutter:

^lol but it does get to much if the whole album is screaming (recovery).
I remember when INAD went through the "radiotest" here in sweden and they talked about it. One radio host said he didnt like listening to Eminem cause he sounds like he is so angry that he'll climb out of the radio and kill you. All I could think of was "dude, did you even try to listen to the lyrics? We got a emotional Em pourng out his heart thruthfully on the mic" lol. INAD is a song perfectly fitted with screaming imo, it still gives me chills sometimes.
