Lol, I doubt he's born again. I think he's always been 'Christian', in the sense that that is just the default way to be, for the average person in the American Midwest. It's not even about being devout or religious, it's just about growing up thinking that believing in God and the Bible is just "normal". To elaborate, someone asked Nate on twitter if he and his bro were religious. He said no. And then the person tried to clarify, "so he doesn't believe in God?" and Nate was like, "of course he believes in God." Believing in God and having some vague religious structure to life is just what is considered expected/normal where Em is from, hence why Nate could say that he isn't religious, but that he OBVIOUSLY believes in God. He just assumes that that is just what people do, without really questioning it. I'm guessing Em is similar, but that doesn't mean Christianity is something he takes particularly seriously, either.
