Well, yes and no. Em could freestyle well because he had so many pre-written rhymes/lines memorized. But givn a random topic to freestyle to then I agree Eyedea would win.

Current Eminem would struggle in the new written era. Prime Em may have a shot. I dunno. There's a lot of great battlers where battling is all they do. I'm much happier Eminem decided to make good music instead.

it depends who he's facing .. i mean the two top leagues (KOTD,URL) have different types of battle rappers and different styles .. for an example, Url is alot about street battle rap .. guns and all that shit .. it's more about bars than humor. KOTD is more about metaphors .. there are alot battles that are based on rap with humor in it .. pat stay is a guy that has more jokes than bars but still manages to win .. i think that the only 3 or 4 guys that battle on Url and would actually make a good show are DNA, T-rex, Hollow da don and especially Loaded Lux .. everybody that has seen the battle between him and calicoe knows what i mean.. KOTD on the other hand has rappers like ... Dizaster, wich would be an amazing battle and he would definetly be a really strong opponent for Em, Pat Stay ... for me, he doesn't show enough bars, he's more about humor in battle rap .. but still, his first round against marwon is one of the strongest rounds i've ever seen, so it's possible that in a battle between em and him, he could actually beat him ... then there are guys like Hollowhan and maybe the Saurus .. but they are not really big threats if they would battle Em ..

You can pretty much check any Cruger battle to see how funny and witty he is. He'll often take original/clever angles as well.

you're kidding right ? what makes you think saurus is THAT good ... in battle rap it's not just about the bars, wich by the way were complete shit from saurus in his last couple of battles, but it's also about the performance. Saurus puts on one of the worst performances while battling other guys .. laughing during his battle, during the opponents battle, bitching about lines the opponent said and so on ... and you know what in a PRE-WRITTEN battle .. prime Em and today's Em would kill Saurus there i said it ... saurus' performance while rapping is complete garbage .. just like canibus didn't deliver when it comes to the way he was delivering his bars .. that's also the only reason why dizaster won .. canibus had much better bars than dizaster .. it's just that dizaster had the whole crowd behind him .. sure he had some crazy bars like the one about putting his own dog to sleep .. yeah that one was good but other than that, his only advantage, and biggest adnvantage was that he had a great performance and thus could get the crowd behind him .. but back to saurus .. in a pre-written 30 minutes long battle ... Em would win and this is not the STAN talking .. this is just me saying how it is .. so ~

you do know that dizaster has no structure while he's rapping at all ? he's just throwing out some random bars that make the crowd go wild just because he's rapping fast and kinda like stretching his rhymes .. dizaster was not better when it comes to the actual rap than canibus ..

and i'm not basing it off the freestyles since nowadays you don't really have to be the best in freestyling .. it's 80% written .. every better lyricist would beat saurus in a written battle ..
