Deadlifts and Squats are good. Make sure you know how to do them first though, you can fuck yourself up if you do it wrong.
And yeah dumbbells or barbell, you hold it differently but its the same exersizes really.

I would do 4 sets of 5-15 reps depending on if you want size or strength. Depends on weight available though.
