My favourite song: Spoke Too Soon. I love that flow style. I've never heard you go faster than your comfort zone. You might have before, but this is the first time I've heard it. I liked it.
Unfortunately, A Good Day and Can't Stay Here (some of the best songs) don't fit the EP. If this was a mixtape I wouldn't care, but it's an EP. Those two tracks seem lighter and brighter to me. The covers of the EP are dark, and therefore I expected the overall vibe to be a little darker (which happens consistently with the rest of the tracks).
So, despite being some of the better songs, I'm wondering why you included them. It's like Lighters on Hell: The Sequel and Beautiful on Relapse. Great songs? Yeah, definitely. But they don't fit.
At least in my opinion.
Well, the EP is called "Epiphany". The first two songs are definitely snug in the whole theme of the EP. I didn't wanna explain it so early, but I wanted to clear it up.
First two tracks are light. Everything is okay.
Then shit. I get in a crash. My mom gets in the hospital.
I'm through with this shit. Depression... thoughts are going every which way.
Listen is just basically me reflecting on my past relationship with this girl. I messed up. I admit it. Calm before the storm.
Spoke Too Soon is the anger being released. Talking to the girl in the first verse, rap/hip-hop in the second verse.
Then BAM. Forever and Always, the Epiphany of the whole EP has come to fruition. I kill myself. (The ending of the song has a gunshot and shit...)
The whole EP is filled with irony, hence the baby on the front. The "front" of the EP is like new life, but the Epiphany is killing myself/death. Then the Reaper and fire on the back to symbolize chaos of the mind and death.
That's where I went with the songs and Demaz and I went with on the covers.
edit: And that's honestly where I was going with this EP. I'm not trying to think of something to defend the project or anything. I wanted a concept since this was an EP.
