Microsoft Creative Director on Always Online: 'Deal With It'

Discuss the world of gaming here, from Gameboy to Playstation 3.

I really hope this isn't true. I don't even play games online.

Xbox 360 did so well because it was a great budget system. The Wii was for little kids, and you had to sell your kids to get a PS3. The 360 was in that perfect middle ground, where poor gamers could save up and buy it.

Oh well, Microsoft will end up paying big if this turns out true. I'm praying not

PC gaming has always been best for FPS but you can't pass up a good racing game on console, I'm currently playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted on PS3.

PS4 is going to destroy the new Xbox.

If that's the case, this would be a fucked up subscription scheme. With the increase in XBL subscribers though, they could probably further subsidize the cost of the console. Still, you would think that they wouldn't force customers to pay for a subscription that they won't allow them to opt out of.

The connectivity requirement is just another example of the push for online multiplayer. Unfortunately, developers are focusing less and less on single-player campaigns, and the gameplay suffers as a result.

This, along with Windows 8, is suicide.

where's over here? just pay $50 and you get a whole year. that amounts to $4 a month anyway

I'm pretty confident this WON'T be happening. Microsoft has even apologized for this guy's Tweets. It's all speculation until there's official word so no need to get your panties in a twist over nothing.

Yeah, which isn't even that bad. PS online sucks, it's so slow and unreliable and has been hacked multiple times. Then you have Xbox who's system has never been compromised and is much more fluid. Personally, I'd rather pay because being an Xbox Live Gold member brings more to the console than just the online game.
