best/worst game endings

The worst ending ever, next to Mass Effect 3, is Borderlands.

The best ending ever in my opinion is Portal 2's.

Mass Effect 3's ending is not that bad. If you don't care for a happy ending.

Best: BioShock Infinite. Left me completely stunned. Could not have asked for a better ending.

Worst: Halo 2. Not that it was a terrible ending but it was a complete cliffhanger and "WTF?!" moment.

problem wasnt that me3 wasnt sad. just that it was diagnostic of a lazy, unfinished rushed ending.

halo 2's ending was offensively curt as well.

@Miller: I can understand why some people wouldn't like the ending because its not necessarily a happy one but I love it. It's amazing and the twist had my mouth wide open until the very end.

@tadpole: The ending of ME3 may seem rushed but I still liked it. You're right though they could have done so much more. There could have been other possibilities.

Ok I beat Bioshock. Great game but the ending was less than meh. I really dont understand the massive love for it. Sure there was a cool twist but best ending ever? lol not even close.

This is coming from someone who didn't enjoy the series before now, though. If you even enjoyed Infinite.

Idk, if you're really into storylines and character development then I don't see how the ending doesn't amaze you. You strike me as someone who cares less for storyline though so it must be hard for you to appreciate it.

And it IS one of the best endings if it's one of the few games I felt satisfied with at the end and most people feel the same. MOST endings are very disappointing like Halo 4's (I was disappointed, anyway) GTA4's ending also sucked. I mean, most endings aren't that great if you think about it. BioShock Infinite's is. It's really in HOW it was told than what actually happened. They pulled it off brilliantly and well, when the game could have VERY EASILY failed and not made sense.

You're in the minority here and that's fine and all but it really IS one of the better or more fitting endings in gaming. Sure, you can say it's tastes but clearly 90% of gamers believe this game to have a fantastic ending. Not that that is a reason to like it but I think if 90% of gamers think this is a 10/10 game then that says something. And it is 10/10. Highly doubt anything else this year will top it. Not even the "Almighty GTA5" that I don't give a shit about lmao.

I actually liked GTAIV's ending a lot, but I agree it could have done more. And yeah, no final conflict kind of made Halo 4's ending anti-climactic. But you're right, most games don't have memorable endings.

Also, I really liked Halo Reach's ending.
