October 23, 2000 - The Sun reports that Eminem had a bodyguard watch outside his toilet when he was at Duke's diner in New York, causing an onlooker to wonder, "I don't know why he had to take a minder with him. I can only imagine it's because he's a bit of a tiddler."

October 23, 2000 - Well after checking in with the Daily News, I get word back that they're still working on the Peaches story, so we may be seeing additional news on this confusing situation.

October 23, 2000 - Howard Stern and Robin Quivers attended the Anger Management Tour show in New York over the weekend and the two talked about how much Eminem swears. He made his song; I've got a little something for him on record." Adding, "Controversy and beef are all he's got to hold on to. I'm going to respond in my hip-hop fashion; commercially and all that, I'm not too worried about it. Honestly, homeboy is beneath me, as far as I'm concerned." He also seems to want to have Em settle his dispute physically by adding, "If Shorty wants to come and handle me, he can do it with his hands."

October 20, 2000 - Eminem took a shot at *NSYNC for the opening of the Anger Management Tour by covering their "Tearing Up My Heart" song with a new version "Tearing Up My Ass". The vulgar parody featured the members of D-12 'exaggerating' *NSYNC's dance steps sexually.

October 18, 2000 - Eminem made it to #243 on the Powerlist 300, a collection of the most influential people in Britain, compiled by The Observer newspaper and Channel 4 television station. Eminem beat out Britney Spears who was #250, though British Prime Minister Tony Blair topped everyone.

October 15, 2000 - One more picture of Kim from a court appearance, as this one gives the best shot of her face.

October 13, 2000 - The Eminem comments in full about Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are available here. But remember, it's the notoriously unreliable News Of The World of the UK.

October 13, 2000 - Christina Aguilera on Fred Durst's recent comments about why he performed with her at the Video Music Awards, "You wish you got some nookie from it, He got no nookie. That did not happen, okay? I just want to clear the table right there, and the thing with Carson too. Eminem's whole song did not happen, okay? It just didn't, but it's some really crazy stuff that people want to insinuate and people want to say, and it is hurtful."

October 11, 2000 - Rolling Stone reports that Em has been unable to work a plea bargain and could face jail time, as his lawyer Brian Legghio exclaimed, "It appears Eminem is being treated differently because of who he is. And who he is is his music and his lyrics."

Out in the open, indoors, it doesn't matter. There's something about them -- I don't know what. But what I wanna do is take them to bed and do it. You know, make it an all-night thing. That would be cool."

Maybe that's why he's so paranoid. Any attractive man will be paranoid about his sexuality. It would be good if he was pro-gay and pro-female, but I think he's just intending to be as obnoxious as possible and sell as many records as he can."

October 8, 2000 - Thirsty.com is reporting that D12 will be performing at the Anger Managment Tour, not just Eminem. The Dirty Dozen, as they're also called, consists of Big Proof aka Dirty Harry, Kon Artis aka Denine Porter Idiotic Bizzare aka Peter S. Bizzare, Swift aka Swifty McVeigh and Kuniva aka Von.

October 8, 2000 - Eminem was on SNL last night performing Stan with Dodi alongside as well as The Real Slim Shady. Slim appeared during the news skit when impersonating old time rappers were talking about him, criticising his lyrics, which prompted Em to say he'd stop the negative lyrics and rap like them, wavin hands in the air like they just don't care.... Not much of an acting role, but a start. GLAAD had wanted a PSA to run about slain gay teenager Matthew Shepard, but it never happened. Em censored himself for the live performance to keep NBC execs happy.

October 5, 2000 - Compliments from critics, something that might not site well with Eminem... October 2, 2000 - entertaindom.com reports Eminem is firing back at the parents that rip his music, saying "Parents should have more responsibility. It's just parents don't pay attention to their f****** kids." Em adds, "Kids are getting bullied everyday and I can guarantee you they're coming home and punching some walls. The parents aren't talking to these kids. Nobody sees it from their side. Growing up in school I was bullied a lot. And I know what it's like to feel you want to kill someone."

October 2, 2000 - Also from entertaindom, Em is saying success is the sweetest form of revenge against his family, saying "And the bigger a success I am, the more it hurts my family." And he says of celebs carrying weapons, "I cannot name you an entertainer who I know who doesn't carry a f****** gun on them at all times. Whether it's registered, whether it's legal, whether it's not legal - it's better to be caught with it rather than without it. I can't carry one no more. Just because of what's going on. But entertainers have got to protect themselves."

That's the most fucked up order of news I've ever seen. The months are listed downwards but within those months, the dates run upwards.

he learned how to deal with press the hard way, he used to say anything and to share a lot (maybe because he felt attacked) kept them working.

Well. What a complete and utterly terrible prediction that was.

And honestly, I can see why Em lives like a recluse now. After half a year like that....Holy shit. I can't imagine how he managed to stay sane.

May 23rd 2000: I asked my grandma to go to the cd store to buy the Marshall Mathers LP for me since I would be in school when the store opened. She bought the first copy of the day. Thinking of it now, I still would have liked to see the look on the person that sold her the cds face.

You can't leave out the fact that at least 2 artists every month say in interviews that if there was one person they could work with it was Eminem.

October 20, 2000 - Death Row Records' Suge Knight in Controversy Magazine speaks of Eminem, saying "He is funny....But he better be careful because he's a white boy who says 'Ni****' a little too often. He's gonna say it around the wrong person who is going to take it to heart and bring his white ass down. I like the guy but he needs to be careful."

For some reason this doesn't surprise me at all.
