viJilance wrote:The first track ever heard of his was Yonkers, it had a sick beat, decent video, his flow was shit but I overlooked that because he talked about how Bruno Mars was a faggot. Fuck do I hate Bruno Mars.
Anyways, I downloaded his two albums, and I thought they were terribly awful shit. The only song I liked of his first one was AssMilk, mostly because of Earl, but he had some good lines too, and I like the whole back and forth going between them. (Except for when he starts hitting him or something in the song, and it stops- That was fucking annoying and I had to edit it out.)
And the only one I liked of the second one, was of course Yonkers.
And on his third album the only one I liked was Rusty.
Watching his interviews makes me think he has some sort of ADD, or that he can't focus, or just generally doesn't take anything seriously. He's a little over the top, which is fine for some, but I don't think he's doing it right. I think he's trying too hard and giving hip hop a bad name.
Don't even get me started on how awful ofwgkta is, Their music is just a concoction of terrible rappers, jumping around pretending to be swag- god damn it do I hate Taco and Jasper.
Also I'm a Hopsin fan. And while I know you can like both folk volume and odd future, I appreciate what FV is doing for hip hop. I hated Tyler before ill mind of hopsin 4, by the way.
Overall I can tell he's matured just a bit, and he is completely independent so I respect him for that, I don't support his music, but I'm not gonna put anybody down who likes it. But if you like new Kanye West, New Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, little Wayne, Rick Ross, Souljah boy- I'll straight up call you a fucking faggot.
Tyler the creator = 5/10 barely passes the hip hop mark for: originality, independence, and stirring up controversy.

I consider Hopsin to be an okay rapper, and I hope he does better work with Knock Madness, but honestly; judging by his last album and every song/verse he's put out since (I used to be a Hop fan)...he won't. And don't get me started on the rest of FV. Hopsin isn't even a good rapper, and he overshadows all of them by a WIDE MARGIN.
Kill You wrote:Seriously, the only song you liked on Wolf was Rusty? Granted that's a good song and a good choice if you're gonna only pick one song from this album to like. But Wolf has a lot of good hip hop songs. I don't understand how people can say "I only like ______ from Wolf and that's it." It makes me think these people skimmed through it and actually didn't listen. The music is great, the rapping is on par at least, and the theme/story is engaging. I understand that music is subjective and opinionated or anything but to call Wolf bad music is very insulting. If you like Eminem, fucking hypocritical Hopsin, and if you hate Rick Ross and Wayne then I don't see how Tyler and Wolf doesn't appeal to you. I can really understand disliking his first two albums, they're growers and hard to stomach at first. But disliking Wolf is nuts. The girl I'm seeing/dating likes Wolf but hates hip hop. It's because she said the music is really good even if she doesn't like what he's rapping about. She really liked songs like Awkward and Answer.

I consider new kanye to be 808's and after.
The thing with Hopsin, is he always goes hard. That's something I can appreciate. Sure his content may not be the most original, but he got himself to where he is on his own. He is a hypocrite to some degree, and I'm not as big of a fan as I used to be, which I guess I led you to believe in my previous post, so let me clear that up.
I think Jerry Benton is actually a really good artist. And I feel every member of funk volume, is better individually then all of oddfuture combined tenfold.
