There are some questionable choices but you act like the the list was garbage when a lot of these verses are verses are amongst the best verses released these last 5 years

Killer Mike "Reagan" (2012) (Verse Two)
Kendrick Lamar "m.A.A.d. city" (2012) (1st Verse)
Jay Electronica "Exhibit C" (2009) (2nd Verse)
Earl Sweatshirt "Earl" (2010) (1st Verse)
André 3000 "Sleazy (Remix)" (2012)
Lupe Fiasco "SLR" (2010) (2nd Verse)
Jay Rock "Money Trees" (2012)
Curren$y "Elevator Musik" (2009) (1st Verse)
to name a few

1train was also a good choice but Krit > Danny

Dude if they did the list year by year from the 5 years they choose, the list may sound a little more realistic. Do you know how many verses there are in the past 5 years?

they had to chose 25 verses, not 100 and the ones I mentioned all deserved to be on the list, at least in my opinion

I don't really disagree wiith the rest however Nas's verse On Triple Beam Dreams should have been included, and I thought Andre's verse on Sixteen or Sorry were better than his one on Sleazy.

Jay Rock had a cool verse on Money Trees and I don't really think Curren$y's verse was anything special. Reagan is a dope song, second verse is great. So yeah you can save like 6 songs from there..

I respect your opinion but that's the point, you can save some songs from that list but some people act like the whole thing was garbage because their favorite artists didn't make it to the list.

Instead of saying what's wrong, people go to the extreme just because it's a complex list

I agree with him having poor grammar structure some times but lately (as of 2011) he's been on fire. What are some examples of recent senseless verses? At first listen his shit typically sounds weird, but it makes perfect sense when you review it back.

I'm a big fan of Tech but some of what he says doesn't make sense, like in BITCH:

"You know I'm wicked see, I'm fly & I floss, but why am I lost? Like my jama's off?"

What the fuck does being naked having too do with being lost in this context?

Fuck I forgot about J Roc on Money Trees. Good call Trimss.

Kendrick could have had all 25 though tbh. Or at the very least... 10.

He's saying like his jam is off, as if his music isn't good.

It just shows how hip-hop has drastically changed for the last decade or so. No comparison really.

Hopsin on Am I a Psycho.

Andre 3000 on Pink Matter.

Nas on Patience.

5 years is a long time though, too many to choose from.

I don't know why I continue to click on these Complex lists, I guess i'm just strangely drawn to their sheer idiocy.

What a pitiful list. It's honestly a slap in the face to hip-hop having Nicki fucking Minaj as having the #1 goddamn rap verse of the past 5 years, when you have people like Kendrick, Em, and Nas putting out good albums, all of which clearly contain better verses than "Monster". At least they didn't leave them out (surprisingly).

Kanye's shitty, aimless verse from *****'s in Paris just proves how blindly on his nuts critics/magazines are.

And A Milli that high (or even on this list at all)?? :facepalm

My face honestly hurts from palming it so hard.

They can't really choose underground songs though.

So everybody has to keep that in mind.

mainstream or underground, Kendrick, Lupe Fiasco and nas should have been on this list at least more than once :y:
