Jay-Z was supposed to be a surprise guest during Kendrick's set, Jay and Beyonce were both backstage waiting to come out but Kendrick and TDE decided to bring Papoose (yes, Papoose :laughing: ) instead of him
The couple stayed backstage and enjoyed the show.

Ebro explains Cali rapper Kendrick Lamar is responsible for New York artist Papoose unexpectedly hitting the Summer Jam 2013 stage — during a valuable prime-time slot too!
"Basically, Kendrick and TDE gave Pap about 5 minutes of their performance set to do his thing. Now, that's real. I gotta give it up. I would have liked it better if TDE had put Pap in the middle with a stamp of approval - not at the freakin end all alone in the world."

I think so too... maybe Pap is the reason why Jay didn't wanna perform or whatever. Pap was always a Kay Slay affiliate & that easily makes it awkward right there even though he's a Brooklyn rapper.

It is true Papoose never hit hard & had a few long switch offs but he's a good rapper IMO.
