not really hating, just don't like how he literally made himself out to be like the next fucking Nas, Jay, Em. The guy's had multiple chances to prove himself, and from what I hear, he's merely reaching good, sometimes great.

Still though, rather he and the other new guys take over the rap scene until Young Money fades from existence.

I liked the singles... liked the beats a lot but honestly the whole thang come as just aight at best for me. Not that I totally don't like it but I definitely expected more... if not a lot more.

I know he did it on purpose... it's obvious but it doesn't come right. Plus Cole gets a lotta love to be honest... a lotta people love him on this very forum.
I personally expected this album to be really good but it hit way lower than that to be honest.

Alright lets get this started

Expectations - I thought this album was gonna be album of the year(along with Em's album), I was hyping it up for a while. Honestly expected a 9-10/10 score, so a classic

Production - 9/10 Some really nice production here, everything from the strings to the samples. Very consistent, I liked it a lot.

Lyrical performance - 5.5/10 Was really disappointed in most of the songs in terms of writing, it was lazy & inconsistent. Some flashes of Cole's true ability but nothing to save the album on this category.

Vocal performance (Flow, Delivery, Mic Presence) - 8/10 Cole's voice complimented the beats very well, saving this album from being bad. Although his flow was nothing special most were pretty basic but smooth. Nice nonetheless.

Best guest feature - Kendrick Lamar, I really liked his hook, the song was pretty dope. This was my choice because none of the other features were really nothing special. I was thinking... was Cole being smart by not giving Kendrick a verse knowing Kenny would have had the best verse in the whole album renegading him? Or was Cole not thinking straight not getting a 16 from the hottest rapper in the game right now? iunno

Favourite track - Hmm idk, I really liked the album other than the negatives I've pointed out and it grows on me each listen. I really like Villuminati, Runaway(I liked Cole's hook and smooth delivery) Let Nas Down & Born SInner

Final grade - I'm honestly feeling too lazy to make an overall calculation given with the grades above and halfass this score and give it a 7/10

I think the albums really solid. After a few listens it doesn't seem to have any standout classics (Lights Please etc..) but every song was good and felt like it belonged on the album. Favorites so far are Let Nas Down, Runaway, Villuminati, Born Sinner, Chaining Day.

fiflaren...stop being ignorant. Your using a verse on an interlude to discredit the lyrics on the entire album? You seem to have missed the entire point of it anyways. I'd suggest absorbing the album before you hate on it.

I honestly don't understand all the hate on the lyrics either....There were a couple verses I didn't love but it was solid throughout. What the fuck did you guys expect? I swear to god it would have to have the lyrics of illmatic and the production of the blueprint for you guys not to hate.

I can agree with that, but it was far from bad. I honestly thought lyrically he was fine, my criticism would be that there weren't any really creative concept songs.
