How the fuck are you gonna call yourself "Yeezus" when your lyrics are mediocre as hell as seen in the latest album? Kanye's lyrics have been on decline since MBDTF and Yeezus continues the tradition.

Do you guys still think that Kanye has to be giving a free pass for his mediocre lyrics just because "he's an artist" that tries to be innovative and stuff?

Kanye has always had average lyrics, they've just been masked by the fact his production and song/album making skills are leagues above most other rappers

I think his lyrics are better on Yeezus than on 808s and Graduation, Grad in particular has some awful lyrics

I wouldn't agree...

His writing on like "Champion" and "Homecoming" is smooth and affecting.

Smooth wrimes and lhynes yo.

And some of his lyrics on MBDTF are awesome. There's the odd cool line on Yeezus but just feels like mostly inconsistent babble about pussy and race (again, yawn).

True... in general Kanye is a phenomenal producer but hasn't been consistent at all with it for the last few years or so.
