Will Smith: What are your thoughts?

Postby Eedee » Jun 16th, '13, 11:44

So... on a whim I listened to his 2005 album "Lost and Found" and holy shit, I was blown away. I was NOT expecting that.

I was expecting this average garbage with trash rhyming and shit. Him bragging about his money or whatever. (I've heard a few songs before like Miami and Just The Two Of Us) but I forgot when I started listening lol

Anyway, holy shit. Will Smith can fucking rap!! His flow is fucking dope, he has a great grasp on rhyme and structure, and his voice and delivery is near perfect. Seriously, the tone and diction he puts into his voice when he raps gave me a raging boner. Haha, it was such a great experience listening to that album.

He mentioned the Eminem diss, and he played it off nicely. I'd love to see Em and Will on a song, tbh.

So... what are your thoughts on Big Willie?

Truth is, when I listened to the album, that's the last thing going through my mind, him not cussing. The vibe and shit of the album totally caught me off-guard haha

Everything while he was the Fresh Prince was great & kinda revolutionary considering how different & outta place his style was for that period of time & how hard most of the rappers were in it. I think he went to far with that R&B shit since he went on his own as Will Smith though... I mean he got those insane world wide hits alongside his movies but I wouldn't listen to him anymore.

He's an incredible actor though... some of his movies are fucking ridiculous! :worship:

Royce worked for Dr Dre - 2001 and Dre didn't give him any credit tbh

Definitely if we talk about the whole album & not about any specific song... I am not sure what part or whatever but most likely a chunk of it was written by ghostwriters.

True... that's how that whole drama started. Royce wrote The Message & other bits for 2001.

Well that kinda ruins a little bit of it for me. But his voice is still fucking epic on it.

Check He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper out... this is some evergreen classic & like I said earlier came in a period in which most of the other rappers & albums were hard as fuck...still left its mark regardless.
