It's definitely a much better style than Recovery. He presents his "jokes" in a MUCH better way. There is nothing that seems forced in this, it's all so smooth.

Nice idea, but it asks two things of Eminem which he hasn't done in a long time:

A) Hate things. Everything is "dope" to him now, except hoes.

B) Use his imagination to come up with a creative concept

True dat...

Although... "Cinderella Man" wasn't bad in terms of him 'existing in a timeless capsule' kind of idea within his music ("take the hands of time and cuff 'em")... and "25 to Life" has obviously been done before but was executed pretty well, and I liked "Almost Famous"...

I hope he knows he needs to come with some creative ass concepts on this album now doh.

But yeah he's been sparingly sparse with the conceptual thinking... at most it's usually just an idea attached to the hook which is loosely thread throughout the verses... but it's been a long-time since he's been truly detached and ran with a fictional, creative idea.

Yeah I think it's new.

I think some think it's 2010/11 just because he's got a similar tone but... he wasn't producing full tracks in 010... I mean... there's potential that it's something he made in like 011 or early 012, something he had stashed in the early stages, but... he knew that it would be heard so close to the new album, so I can't imagine it being too old.

His wordplay and humour is far sharper than 010 or 011 shit, no cringing elements, a lot more comfortable and the fact it's a full Em production... and sounds like full-on new style production I think means it's probably very recent, within the last year for sure.

I even thought myself that there would be less of a drastic shit in tone or flow as, even though we think every time that he's explored every avenue with his voice... he REALLY is coming close to that being a reality now, which is also why maybe he decided to produce the shit, to focus on giving the music more of a unique sound since he's running out of ways to change his voice...

I don't agree with people saying the flow is choppy either. Allowing lines to fall on music and leaving gaps isn't choppy... he's creating spots and melody within the flow... doesn't sound choppy to me, sounds smooth and natural.

It's unlistenable. You can call it a freestyle, freeverse, "it's only a mixtape song" whatever excuse you want.

Bottom line is he is using that whisper/yell choppy flow cheesy line crap.

So if it is old, then there is still hope. If that is 2013 Em, the album will be horrible.

I want to believe that it is old, because it is so shitty. But it doesn't really make any sense for it to be.

Em has had slumps before and broke out of them. Hope he does with this album. My expectations are very low though.
