But there is no excuse for his terrible performance as a rapper on this album. It's down right fucking garbage. We all know Kanye is no Eminem or Nas, but this by far is his worst rapping ever.

Comments like this are so stupid. Go listen to slaughterhouse or tech n9ne, lol.

No, you're stupid :y:

If you want amazing multies and metaphors go listen to rappers renown for it. Complaining about Yeezy's rapping was played out after College Dropout. It's such a "stupid and cliche" thing to say 'Yeezy's rapping was terrible", like that was the main focus if the album. Like the same people haven't been saying the same things for almost 10 years now. We get it, you don't appreciate the music but saying the album is shit and drawing that conclusion because of the lyrics is fucking stupid.

Yeezy obviously isn't for you, that doesn't make it shit and it doesn't make his lyrics shit, it means the type of music he makes so well just ins't your cup of tea.

Great comeback. 10/10, so smart and funny. You sound like those Youtube guys who are like "if u dont like this slaughterhouse song go listen to lil gayne!!1"

First of all, I never said the album is shit. And if I did, I did it jokingly. I've been saying this album is a 6 or 7/10 ever since it dropped.

Second, how are you going to give Kanye a pass like that? That would be like saying "French Montana is dope, well his rapping sucks but he doesn't want to be a great rapper but he's still dope because he has great beats! You just don't appreciate the music" or even "Eminem's metaphors aren't terrible, you just don't appreciate them. They're corny on purpose, don't you know it by now?!" which is terrible.

They are RAPPERS, Kanye's album still falls under the rap category and it will be nominated as RAP albums. So of course I would at least expect some decent rap verses in the album. Why should I not? All of his albums were better lyrically. 808 was an experimental album full of autotune yet the lyrics were WAY above Yeezus.

I'm not even talking about multies and metaphors, but the content is so played out and stupid on most of Yeezus.. Like what is he even saying during the whole album?

Yeezy isn't for me? He's one of my favorite rapper/artist. CD, LR, Graduation, 808 and MBDTF (at first I didn't understand the hype, but like two months ago I listened to it again from start to scratch and finally "got it") are some of my favorite rap albums. Graduation and MBDTF especially.

Why can't Ye get criticized? He didn't write his own lyrics, he had writers helping him and they were still bad. He didn't produce shit neither. What the fuck did he do in this project? Oh yeah he oversaw it, how great.. Smh.

I still appreciate most of the album, but man even his KTT hardest stans admit the lyrics on Yeezus are some of his worst. Let it go.

Some of his worst lyrics ARE on this album...I agree with both Trimms and Slik (to an extent). While it's dumb to criticize Kanye for his lyrics seeing as lyrics aren't his strong point, it's still stupid to give him a pass while other rappers are rapping better but get shit for their content...why can Yeezy spit about bitches, pussy, and money but when other people do it it's played out? All things should be considered when listening to an album. Not just lyrics or beats. You also have to consider concepts, rhyming, song structure...and tbh although I like Yeezus this fucking album is all over the gotdamn place. Adds a bunch of pointless shit in these songs that he honestly didn't need, mistaking it for being artsy.

Did you not understand the concept of the album? The order of the tracklisting and the significant presence of "Bound 2" in the end? Yeezy rapping about what he's rapping about is no different than Kendrick Lamar making Backseat Freestyle.

The first four tracks (On Sight, Black Skinhead, I Am a God) being of the same mood indicate his era of greatness, the pinnacle of his ego, he's making the songs that reflect his highness, he's doing whatever he wants cause he's in his prime. The streak ends with "I Am a God," and the "struck by lightening" might be anything, personally I'd like to think it's his mother's passing, obvious reach though.

New Slaves starts which carries a similar concept to Black Skinhead which criticizes the media's perception of their lives but this one is way direct, it's darker and it's more aggressive, it's the place of darkness and the downside of fame (New Slaves, Hold My Liquor, I'm In It, Blood On The Leaves), Hold My Liquor is a typical ignorant verse that metaphorically implies that he lost his ways with the night life as implied by the Chief Keef feature which he further expands upon in I'm In It, "got the kids and the wife life, but can't wake up from the night life," it's basically an alternative version of the My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy song "Hell of a Life," and it's precisely why the following songs Blood on the Leaves is an auto-tuned break up song. "Guilt Trip" is an epiphany.

But unlike MBDTF, the album has a happy ending and that's why it's called "Yeezus," he isn't lost in the world. "Send It Up" begins with a Beenie Man sample that says "Reliving the past? Your loss!" and then King Louie begins his verse. The verse ends with "Yeezus just rose again" and the song ends with a beat-shift and another Beenie Man sample.

As for the significant of "Bound 2," the song's mood is completely out of touch with the album, why? Because it's the only realistic song on the album, it's the only song that implies a happy, normal life with actual romance and "need." From the lyrics to the soulful samples, yes this track is dedicated to Kim Kardashian implying that his life finally found it's meaning now he's walking on this "straight path" and finally quit doing the meaningless bullshit he used to do it back in "Hold My Liquor" and "I'm In It."

All of this dependent on analyzing the mood of the album, the structure of the tracklist and the lyrics. The concept was achieved musically and that's why it seems so "all over the place" for you. The album definitely serves a purpose in Kanye's career, it's his way of saying, right now, he's Yeezus, he's completely untouchable, he's at the high point of his life. He is Yeezus.

Did you compare Bound2 to backseat freestyle ?
You ain't listenin to that shit correctly then.

I honestly don't have the time. Like I said, you didn't appreciate it which is fine. It doesn't make me like it any less /kanyeshrug

I do find it hilarious it took you 3 years to finally "get" MBDTF. Maybe you just don't get Yeezus lol

P.S. You're still stupid :y:
