Agreed. Proof was shot at a club, I'm willing to bet he got into a fight with someone he shouldn't have and got himself killed. Then em.went into a deep butthurt denial hiatus

He sobs over and absolutely defends Proof seemingly without admitting once his friend probably murdered someone.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm not sure I recall him absolutely defending him. It wouldn't surprise me, but I don't remember anything like that off the top of my head. He talked a lot about what type of person Proof was, and said that he didn't really know what happened that night.

Of course, there's the line in "Going Through Changes":
They say Proof just flipped out, homie just whipped out and bust
Nah, it ain't like Dudey to do that, he wouldn't fuckin' shoot at
Nobody, he'd fight first

But that's from a song set in a previous time. It describes his emotions and reactions as they're happening, from his mood swings to his pill addiction, his withdrawal from the public, his overdose, and then where he finds himself at present. My point is that there's no doubt that he felt like that at the time, confused and in denial. I'm just not sure that he still does, or that he's actually defended him since his return.

From what I remember of the story I read, Proof and a guy got into an argument and Proof shot the guy. Then the guy's (nephew?) shot Proof.

He (the nephew) was also a bouncer at the club. They were arguing over a game of pool and Proof shot the dude right in his head. Didn't kill him straight away though so it wasn't murder until he actually died.

If that version of event is accurate I think the bouncer did the right thing in the moment. RIP to both of them though.

I'm sure there is more to the story than fans know. Believe it or not, friends and family know more than we do . No one knows what really happened and those who were there to tell the story, were from one side of it.
