Hip Hop fucking won. Number 1, 2 and 3 are hip hop albums. :y: Nobody lost in this one. Kanye kinda underperformed but it was expected with the lack of single, so he still did great numbers.

I didn't even know J.Cole would sell this much, and Mac sold more than 100 000 while still being indie. They all won.

BUT the biggest win is Macklemore. Sold 2% more than last week, and Can't Hold Us is being played everywhere. He's performing in arenas and if he keeps going like that he might even reach Platinum before Kendrick. :o

J coles sales are not that good tbh.

He is twice as big as he was in 2011 but he only moved from 217 K (debut album) to 290 K.

He sold more than Kendrick Lamar did on his first week. He's becoming a household name.

No he didn't.

cole's debut did 217 K
Kendrick's debut did 242 K

you can't compare a sophomore to a debut album, Cole was supposed to do more than 300 K and he probably won't go platinum even a year or two from now.

Born Sinner sold more than K.dot's album, and I was comparing him to Kendrick because he's the biggest rapper right now.

More than 300k? Are you out of your mind? Kanye barely did it. For a sophomore album, in 2013, 300k is pretty damn awesome. I don't even know how you could argue about that.

He even sold more than Rick Ross, who was everywhere on the radio and on TV's. More than T.I, more than Wayne with INAHB 2..

The difference is that J. Cole probably won't go platinum even a year or two from now and even if he goes platinum, you can't compare a sophomore to a debut album.

Everybody expected Drake to move from 400K to 600K with his sophomore, just like everybody expect Kendrick to move from 242K to 350-400K with his next album.

I still think Kendrick is gonna edge that but at least it's sure now they both are gonna comfortably get there & keep moving after that too.
