bigray wrote:I can't get into Rakim, I like some individual songs from him but that's about it and no fucking way is he ahead of EM on that list, same with many others on the list Scarface lol.

in 2013 nobody has a better catalog then rakim not lyrically or musically espcially in the lyrical department.

bigray wrote:Big has 1 classic album, EM has 3 almost 4 for some. How is he ahead of EM lol

Emniem has only 2 classics, 3 for some and hiphop365 got it right

8. Eminem : At his peak, Em made some of the most original, funniest, angriest songs in the history of the art form. Vicious flows occasionally can’t obscure the ferocious intellect seething just under the surface.

Classics: Slim Shady LP, Marshal Mathers LP

yeah i don't rly see an argument against picasso baby, holy grail, nickels and dimes, heaven, bbc, beach is better, futw, crown, etc. if i averaged out the song ratings it'd probably somewhere between 7.0-8

obv the beyonce song is pretty bad and the rick ross song is lacking but it's a pretty good album

I would have to disagree, most of the songs were poorly written. He used that horrendous "new school" flow like on 4 songs that for me just ruin the replay value, it's kind of embarrassing. Concept wise nothing new and bold. The only thing that lived up to the hype was the production.

No, there's nothing revolutionary about the concepts, but that isn't necessary to have a good album. pretty sure this forum was creaming when LIG was released lol. It isn't incredible, it isn't in his top tier, but I don't see how most of those songs are poorly written at all lol there's some pretty great writing on the album (as well as some lazy writing). don't rly kno what u mean about the "new school flow"

Production is great, song structure, hooks are good and the timberlake and frank ocean features are served well. good album.

Too many overrated popular rappers. Only some deserve the title, but not even that high.
