I remember discussing gkmc with you before you left class. I'm really glad you like it so much now, it's definitely a grower and definitely a phenominal album.

Do you like Section.80? Keisha's Song is one of the best hip hop songs I've ever heard. It's poetic yet gritty with a very real subject matter. There are so many dope songs on that album.

Tbfh I think I like Kendrick's music more than Eminem's

Yeah GKMC just kept growing on me and I started appreciating Kendrick more and more until I hit the point where I just became a full blown Kendrick stan.

I think Section.80 is really good but it's not as polished as GKMC and you can definitely tell he improved as a rapper in-between the albums. Hiiipower is probably my favorite Kendrick song though.

Keisha's song is amazing and I love Section 80 as well so many classics in that album. I find it easier to bump than GKMC but the latter being the more complete album. Definitely one of my favorite new age rappers.

I know this is "ask class the king question thread" all over again, but in what way do you judge rap differently than back in say 2011, that your taste changed so much (lot's of "classic" albums on your list)?

Be honest class, did you fuck a black chick?

I can't think of anything else that could be so influential.

Hmmm well it's hard to put into words but I guess I just see lyricism completely different than I did before. Stuff like Diabolic and other punchline rappers has a lot of multis which is really cool but it's also really easy to do and not that impressive to me anymore. On the other hand, stuff like Kendrick just has incredible depth to it and he manages to say so much with less words. His imagery is fantastic and he really does paint a picture lyrically and put you into the song with his descriptions. I've also learned to appreciate flows/delivery/production a lot more than I did before.

Best is kinda bullshit, lol. Cos we are so heavily influenced by our favourites.

For example, Accor's a spiritual nigga, so Jay-Z gets a bit more of a nod. I'm a realist, so Atmosphere gets a bit more of a nod.

Ya know what I'm saying?
