Well... after that I think it's say to say that Tech is Faarrrr from gifted

hehe sorry

And so you guys choose straight up bragging track to display that Tech doesn't make sense. lol figures.

However, no, sorry, but you fail.

"Mars with the starts this is far lifted lyrics"

He is lifting the bar. You know, like as high as Mars/stars? His lyrics are far lifted. His lyrics lift the bar high.

"quit the bar with it, bar scriptures are terrific"

The first bit is a little confusing, however it's easy to assume he is saying 'bare with it', using bar because he hadn't used the word yet when describing his lyrics, then ending with his 'bar scriptures', elevating them to significant composition, are terrific (again complementing them.)

Again, this is on Mental Giant...c'mon

^When you open your mouth I want to faaarrrt up in it

And I also notice you conveniently left out my entire argument... Now, if you go back and look at the part you left out, you'll see I already address what you've done. You are just translating Techspeak into English. Just because something something can be deciphered into English doesn't mean it's good.

You're right, I chose to skip over your clump of jargon, I guess I've just seen it enough in this thread

I don't understand what the big deal is. Can you guys (those who dislike Tech N9ne's lyrics) not enjoy lyrics which aren't obvious and blatant? Must it be simple and in your face before you think it is good?

If some of these 'lyricists' out there happened to do something like this, it would be praised as brilliance.

"Oh guys, it's not obvious. That's what makes him such a great lyricist yo, he's above everything nahmean??"

But when it's Tech?

"look here, ol' spitfire Tech back at it again with his stupid nonsense"

EDIT: And yeah, go ahead and tell me how Tech doesn't execute it as well and whatnot. Same ol' same ol'.

When Willy brings the looggic in this bitches get ripped aparttt the quickest

It has nothing to do with being simple and in your face.

It has everything to do with skill to write and effectiveness at communicating..

but that's another problem with Tech.. most of the time he doesn't have a message in mind when he's writing. He's going line to line, thinking of any rhyme that might make sense in any way/shape/form so he can continue putting out songs that sound cool.

Is it that haardd to grip it?

Newh, Tech doesn't write with a message in mind at all. Sure.

Are you apart of the 'Lil Wayne is a better lyricist than Tech' craze?

Willy, maybe if you wrote your post in Tech speak then Mr Change would be able to understand what you're saying? English just isn't working for him

That fucking track where The Jokerr mimics Tech's style with the "Frogs and Crickets/Autistic Kid" shit was hilarious.

StayWideAwake wrote:@Willy: " if the artist chooses to use bizarre diction and language that isn't present within their audience's natural lexicon I find it within reason to deduce the aforementioned listener's ability to comprehend".

This isn't as ridiculous as you think. I actually think (while a tiny bit too wordy) it is a wonderfully articulate sentence. There is a place and time for all language. Tbh, I actually liked that sentence because it was a refreshing change after all of the plain banter I read on this site all of the time lol (myself included). So maybe some, like myself, listen to Tech knowing that the language is going to be a little obscure, but like it anyway within the right space. I only listen to Tech when I'm in a mood to hear certain things, and that's just one of the things you have to think of. I don't think it necessarily means he is a bad rapper, his obscure language (aside from the Mental Giant stuff which is obviously nonsene) is just one of his character quirks. Every level of articulation has its place and time. It's the same reason Nicholas Sparks chooses certain words that appeal to his auduence (casual, "fun" readers) and Chris Langan doesn't hold back his vocabulary in the Cognitive Theoretical Model of the Universe. The CTMU is an extremely hard read (anyone who has read it here can agree) but that doesn't make him an unclear or inefficient writer. He is adressing a different audience, and articulating himself in different ways. So yes, when it results in nonsense, overstretching your vocabulary is useless. But when it IS in context, not liking the word choice means just that: you dont like it. Which is why some people read some authors, some hate it and read others. Is this fair?

@SWA

Well as you probably know that isn't the full sentence... I haven't said anything about the listener's ability to comprehend.. Anyhow - I'm watching anime at the moment so I won't be able to go back and forth but do you agree that two sentences that have the same meaning (or close enough) do not necessarily have the same impact on the listener? Do you think that one sentence could be more effective than the other?

Tech N9ne's lyrics aren't difficult to understand because his messages/thoughts/ideas/emotions are complex, or because of an excessive use of encrypted writing, metaphors, or other writing tools. It's because he clouds his meaning/message with strange sentence structure and odd word choice for the sole purpose of enhancing rhyme schemes and flow/cadence. I don't think that's an impressive way of writing at all, I think it's pretty stupid lol.
