Hip Hop Album Sales: The Week Ending 4/08/2013

#3. Jay-Z - Magna Carta Holy Grail - 61,900 (795,700)

#4. Tech N9ne - Something Else - 55,600 (55,600)

#15. J. Cole - Born Sinner - 17,500 (544,100)

#16. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist - 17,000 (966,700)

#29. Wale - The Gifted - 10,700 (278,600)

#36. Kanye West - Yeezus - 9,310 (496,110)

Kendrick is not on the HDD list which means he sold less than 7000, probably around 6000 which would be 986 000 for him. :b:

Kanye won't reach platinum. Even though he's performing at the VMAS, the most he can reach is probably around 700 000. Look how much he's struggling to go gold. 2 months almost and he sold over 300 000 in his first week.

HTS did 170 000 on its first week and we can safely say it reached 800 000. Kanye isn't doing that.

And it's kinda sad for Tech because if he had a big buzz like with WorldWide Choppers or Am I A Psycho he would have sold over 60 000. He did the same numbers as in 2011 with All 6's and 7's.

Macklemore is probably like two weeks away from it, three at most. Kendrick probably three.

So apparently, Kendrick did less than Mac Miller (who did 5000) but I can't find him listed anywhere. It's safe to say Macklemore won this race.

I wonder how much of an impact Yeezus not having a cover or anything has had on sales. I know that I wouldn't buy an album by a major artist like that. I only buy struggling artists' albums usually but what's the appeal against downloading it? A bit of red tape?

Kendrick Lamar: 7,474 (987,154 total)

Only two weeks left him/Macklemore. And Mack sales are decreasing so K.Dot might get it first :o

Here. It's weird though, because if those numbers were true, he should've been on the HDD list.

The numbers from the HDD list are approximation numbers, the real sales numbers come from Nielsen Soundscan :y:

I'm trying to find the correlation between Kendrick Lamar and this thread's topic. It looks like you're replying to someone who is then deleting their posts?

There were a few twists & turns for the last couple of weeks so I guess they'll both get it together in 3 weeks.
